After completing a weekend sweep at home, the Reign now head out on the roar for five straight games. It’s an interesting schedule, as well. They’ll begin tonight in San Jose, then will play a pair of games in Calgary, before wrapping things up with two more games against the Barracuda. Once this stretch is over, Ontario will be done with their season series against each club and will only have three games remaining on their 2024-25 regular season schedule — all against different opponents.

As announced earlier this week, Kings prospect Otto Salin has signed an entry-level contract with the organization and has arrived in North America from Finland. He’s actually joined coach Marco Sturm’s squad for the balance of their season. However, he’s not quite ready to play just yet.

No problem, though. Sturm has a full complement of skaters at the moment and should have no problem rounding out his lineup for tonight. Veteran goaltender Phoenix Copley is expected to start in net. He’s been exceptional recently, allowing only one goal in three of his last four starts.

On the blue line, Sturm has been playing the same group of six defenders of late; so we’re not expecting any changes there. Up front, Andre Lee had himself a game to remember Sunday night, posting two assists and an electric game-winning goal that completed the weekend sweep. His line, accompanied by Jack Studnicka and Sammy Fagemo, have been heating up of late.

Similar comments can be said for both Franky Pinelli and Martin Chromiak, although they’ve been split up on two different lines, as shown below. The latter made his way onto the scoresheet once again for Ontario last time out, recording a secondary assist on Glenn Gawdin’s first goal of the contest. It marks an impressive stretch of eight points (3G, 5A) in Chromiak’s last eight games.

Fellow Kings prospect Kaleb Lawrence has appeared in back-to-back games now for Ontario and will likely be in the lineup again tonight. On Saturday, he engaged in his first AHL fight.

A win tonight clinches a playoff spot for the Reign. They can also clinch with a Roadrunners loss in regulation.
