Will there be a magic number thread this season?

The hottest team in the NHL won again tonight. And the Kings play them on the road last game of season.

I would add Vancouver's schedule to the mix as they are on a roll with an outstanding San Diego goalie They are the biggest threat to the Kings.

Hopefully the last game will be meaningless, taking care of business in the next four should get us there with Vegas losing tonight

Unless you count Florida, Edmonton, Toronto, Colorado, and St. Louis, who all have a better record over the last ten, and the Rangers and Calgary, who have an equal record. So actually "in a three-way tie for the sixth hottest team in the NHL."
 
We currently have more wins than VAN, so as usual have to take care of our business - win the next four and that game becomes irrelevant. Still a tall order, but definitely in the driver's seat

All of those teams you mentioned are in the playoffs. I should have clarified, who is the hottest team outside of the playoffs that is on a six game winning streak.
 
Stars and Coilers play tonight. Do we want EDM (hoping to catch and pass them)to lose or Dallas(keep them behind us in the WC race)

Only need to win 3 out of the next 4 (assuming VAN and VGK win out) to make the playoffs. Not quite as tall an order.
 
Darn Casucks just won’t go away. Tied with Minny right now Argh
 
Dallas losing puts the wild card in play for us and Vegas. You don't want to face Colorado but it would be playoffs. Also Dallas and Vegas play next Tuesday. Need that one to end in regulation.
 
Hopefully Dallas can eliminate Vegas on Tuesday. Or the Sharks can do it tomorrow. FiveThirtyEight has our playoff odds at 99%.
 
TWO is our magic number. That sounds like a Schoolhouse Rock song. Anyway, Vegas has 2 games before our next one so I'm hoping that one of them is a regulation loss or both are OT losses. Once that happens they still have a chance at a wild card spot. But I want to see them miss the playoffs. That would be sweet. The most important thing is that we would be in the playoffs. It feels so good to say that. And once we get in, if we get in, who knows what could happen. I like our chances against the Oilers.
