I'm really gonna miss Nick. All these years we've been so lucky to have him announcing games. After Faust hit the bricks, it's been a real pleasure hearing him on the TV broadcasts. I had nothing against Alex (Theasaurus Rex!), but with Nick doing the play-by-play, even Fox has been much better. They work well together. Two real pros.

In my opinion, Nick belongs right up there with Dick Enberg, Chick Hearn, Vin Scully and Bob Miller. Los Angeles sports fans have been very spoiled over the past few decades, because there guys were the best. Looking forward to the ceremony tonight.

But if Foxy doesn't come back next season, it's gonna be kinda weird. It just won't sound like Kings hockey. Please come back Jim!

I'm so bummed Nick's calling it quits, but good for him. I hope he enjoys his retirement.

Nick Nickson is as every bit as legendary a voice as Bob Miller. He and Miller will be sorely missed as the radio/PbP voices of the Kings. They will forever be in our hearts as Kings fans. Along with Hearn, Enberg (though I'm not a Raiders fan), and Scully, it's sad that we're witnessing the end of an era of refreshing PbP voices for LA sports. But that's life and things will not last forever.
 
Helenius is making good use of his frame against some of the Jets players. If he puts up a little more bulk, then he can definitely prove to be a difficult player for opposing players to face.
