He took that terrible offensive zone penalty in the middle of the 3rd, and my instant reaction was that he needed to be stapled to the bench for the rest of the game. Just like the Kings to take a random Tuesday night in a half filled arena against one of the top teams in the league and play their best game to shut them out. This homestand looked to be a relief from their first 10 games before the season, and now represents 3 of the top 5 teams in the league in 3 games with only the b2b champs to go. To have 3 of 6 points available isn't the end of the world for sure. Gratz to Kempe and Doughty for their milestones. Kuemper, once again we all thank you for your efforts!

Fiala’s all too frequent gaffes are why I don’t like him on a line with Q. Fiala needs a babysitter like Kopi or Danault to clean up his messes. QB needs his freedom. Right now, Fiala-Kopi-Laf and Armia-QB-Juice might be more effective.

They both need babysitters, in my opinion. QB less so than Fiala, but I’m not ready to deem Byfield as a strong option at center just yet. Impressive speed and ability to back check, certainly, but also far too many mental gaffes and misreading the danger on ice, resulting in a missed opponent wide open in the slot. Also, his erratic flash and dash down low in the offensive zone leads to him running himself into proverbial corners, and he’s stuck on the wrong side of the puck when the opposition mounts its counter attack. He’s like a big puppy, wildly chasing the ball, rather than anticipating its arrival. Furthermore, his face off percentage is rather abysmal.

Interestingly enough, the NHL website still has him listed as a RW, despite the fact that we’ve long since viewed him as a center, and generally our discussions here are directly related to his viability as a #1 center of the future.

I don’t really -like- Drew Doughty either, but I appreciate what he’s done as a King.

It was pretty neat being at this game & seeing all the different milestones. Especially Drew's. I don't hate Blake like some people do. But Doughty's the greatest Kings defenseman & this is more confirmation. Looking back, you can say how much the Kings were in control. But I didn't know they were going to win until Fiala's goal. Right before that I thought are they going to score on this f@cking power play? But that was a great shot by Kevin. Also, if Kuemper isn't at the top of his game we may not win. After those 1st couple of games, he's back to being as good as he was last year . He doesn't get enough credit (hint, hint, team Canada). I'm also glad people are warming up to Perry.

And it was fun being at the game. The new Jumbotron is nice. And I like those flags with the changing pictures. The other stuff between play doesn't bother me. I don't know why attendance is so bad. No matter how these last 4 years have ended, this is still a good team & people are missing out. It is expensive, which is the main reason I'm not going as much as I want. But if I had the chance I would go a lot more.
