PLD and how I learned to quit worrying about the bomb

So many expectations, so little endeavor.

Watching PLD hovering near players fighting for the puck, even for a meager yet appropriate 13min, must drive RB crazy. Keep waiting for him to shift into a Lizotte gear, but it seems there isn't such a gear in his transmission.

I’ve learned my newbie lesson. Lol. PLD is just such low hanging fruit now that I’ve completely lost my appetite. He’s so bad it’s just gotten boring. Of the 5 stages of grief I got to ‘acceptance’ in late January. Now I just need vodka and a nap.

This remains the truest comment on this thread. Best wishes to Gabe that he comes back next year healthy. Unfortunately, his horrible health luck is undeniable. Really sad stuff. If he were still here, this would loom so heavy re: the on-ice implications in addition to the personal.

Gabe Vilardi has Enlarged Spleen, no Timetable for Return

Centers Blake could have gotten for that package weren’t available in the summer. Lindholm and Hertl came later. And of course when Eichel was available Vilardi wasn’t an acceptable chip. Timing is everything.

Also had we gotten Hertl for Vilardi...what a dream scenario that would have been.

A buyout is better than any deal with retention. Those buyout numbers are just too good to pass up. Yeah, 14 years, but 11 of them are under $1.8 million and the worst three are under $4 million.

Its too good to pass up.

dudes 30, with 6 years left .. and i doubt they would retain salary for us ... at 8.1 mill .. the last years have movement clauses as well ... Im not too sure on how the last 3 ish years is going to look.

With Danault out PLD has failed to pass yet another test to prove his worth as he hasn’t stepped up for him in the least bit. Without Danault PL is actually looking even worse on defense getting into situations that really expose him. Late in the game against WPG and he can’t even chip the puck up past the blue line, just lazily passes to an intercepting Jet and then it’s 45 seconds eating clock in the Kings’ zone. Nevermind every other shift tonight - none were any better.

Buyout.
 
100 percent buyout. The guy has absolutely no will. You can't take an 8.5 million cap hit for that level of effort. He's what... Our 7th best forward after Kopi, Kempe, Danault, Fiala, Moore, and Arvy. Maybe tied with Laff.
The Kings needed to get Lowry from the Jets.

Ya, proving he is no number 2 center. Soft, laize-faire offense and inept defensively. No way I'd want him on my team if I was GM.

Embarrasing, just embarrasing! You would think this was a game PLD would be extra pumped up for, to get the chance against his former team to prove all his doubters wrong.

But nothing, absolutly nothing!! As s child, I had a stick insect that showed more fighting spirit than this bum…
