That settles it for the ECF. It's the third time in a row for the Cats for making it back to the Cup Finals. Now they'll await the winner of the WCF.
No, it wasn't the challenge alone. It was one in a series of poor decisions. Hopefully he learned from his mistakes.Fair enough, but that wasn't what killed the Kings. Hiller blew it in game 2 when he had a 4 goal lead and thought he could coast on in by running 3 lines and 4 D. Sure they won the game on a fluke goal. Does anybody think the Kings had any chance to win in OT?
Florida back to finals
Jordan Nolan, Kyle Clifford, Dwight King ... loved that team!Bunch of thugs . . . talented . . . but thugs, nonetheless. (Sheepishly forgetting Willie Mitchell, Matt Greene, Robyn Regehr, Daniel Carcillo, etc.)
Heh. Carrie, great job Dolphin. I want to submit my own Hiller comparison/Stephen King quote but the only book I finished was "Different Seasons". Everything else was too, too scary. I don't get you horror guys. But, I'll rise to the challenge.

I understand all of that (including Broad Street) but I'll grind my teeth into nothingness if EDM wins. If only I could just forget the 80s Smythe Division.....I never saw those three as "thugs". Hard-nosed? Yes. Protectors of the little guy? Absolutely. Take the body. Yup. But none of them were head-hunters, like Bennett. None of them were 'after-the-whistle-sh*t-disturbers', like Ekblad, Perry, Tkachuk.
I have nothing but great respect for Barkov and Maurice. But I will be grinding my teeth, if that team of thugs wins it all again. (I try to forget that I ever watched the Broad Street Bullies dominate the league . . . and the Kings.)
Those three were more like cops than thugs.Jordan Nolan, Kyle Clifford, Dwight King ... loved that team!
Hate to say it but Arvidsson has made more than a normal share of dirty plays this playoff season also. Just seems like the team mentality is "win at all costs".I'm fine with hard play. I'm not fine with what I would consider dirty play, or outright cheating.
Watching Douche slash the injured foot (which was injured on a dirty play by Nurse) of Hintz during a stoppage of play while skating to the bench? From behind, no less? That's just the kind of classless garbage that I associate with Bouchard, Perry, Nurse, Kane, and other's on that team. They're just scum, and anyone who supports them is also scummy. Ya, I said it.

These Panthers are choir boys compared to the 1970s Broad Street Bullies.I never saw those three as "thugs". Hard-nosed? Yes. Protectors of the little guy? Absolutely. Take the body. Yup. It's hard to sit next to something so dirty without getting dirt on yourself as well.Hate to say it but Arvidsson has made more than a normal share of dirty plays this playoff season also. Just seems like the team mentality is "win at all costs".
That’s really cool. His writing itself was one thing, and as painterly as it could be the narrative can get a little hard to navigate in some works, at least for me. But his philosophy/worldview always shone through vividly. One of the writing GOATs, and I rarely use that term. I actually prefer the old hockey term goat, a player who totally sucked.I love the reference! I got a signed copy of "The Passenger" just before McCarthy passed away a couple years ago.
I still think Dallas has another gear for this spring. Last spring they had 2 tough rounds while the Oilers breezed through the Kings in 5. This time, Dallas got to face Winnipeg so they should be fresher than 2024. They need guys like Robo and Johnston and Duchene. Also, it gets lost in the points hype, but Mikko is statistically the skater equivalent of Skinner. He's either getting 3-4 points in a game or averaging 1/3 ppg.
I hate the Oilers but I also wish we had some scummy players. The Kings are a bunch of good guys and softies. It is analogous to the entire Canes team watching Aho get beat up in game 3. I wish we had some guys like Perry or Nurse or Kane who would start stuff and get into the other team's head. We also need to get bigger where we can.
