I was way wrong about team USA.
Reminds me of someone we all once knew..Florida has that extra gear that we all talk about. When they needed a big game, they physically destroy Toronto. Now they are pushing around Carolina with ease. Some teams just know how to win, when it matters most.
Wow
USA is going to play in world championship finals first time in 91 years
Last time they won championship in 1960 it was combined Olympics and world championship in Squaw Valley
I’ve never believed that Carolina could go deep in the playoffs. But they’re getting the crap kicked out of them.
In one of these threads I dreamed up a scenario where Holland trades for Tage Thompson. The problem is it would require Byfield plus to get Buffalo to even pick up the phone.Tage Thompson scored goal in OT and USA won world championship.Sign him to Kings ,Buffalo is in rebuild anyway
Dallas is a tough win for the Kings but they’re good at collapsing in the WCF so I wanted them to beat CO. Florida may still beat the Oil but they are battered with injuries. Feels like 3 weeks from now we will be watching the league’s scummiest players lift the cup and the most toxic fans cheering them on. And we are left thinking, “what if?”It does give me a bit of hope that Holland built a significant part of this Oilers squad. Maybe he can do the same in LA.
It’s just not possible to beat this Oilers team without some amount of superstar talent. That’s the best shot you’ve got. Holland needs to do whatever he can to add Marner this off-season. If he can’t get Marner he needs to add a player who can produce offense on a level above Fiala and Kempe.
I love the reference! I got a signed copy of "The Passenger" just before McCarthy passed away a couple years ago.Dallas is a tough win for the Kings but they’re good at collapsing in the WCF so I wanted them to beat CO. Florida may still beat the Oil but they are battered with injuries. Feels like 3 weeks from now we will be watching the league’s scummiest players lift the cup and the most toxic fans cheering them on. And we are left thinking, “what if?”
Also feels like a Cormac McCarthy novel. Pays to be a villain, and one wrong decision from the protagonist can have catastrophic consequences.
