All Things:AMC television

The first half of the episode was blah. The turn of events at the end was great.

Amazing that they take a likable but morally inept charachter in BB and have really drawn me into the real humanistic side of Jimmy. Really feel bad for the guy right now.

Two deaths, was expecting more after the interviews/stories. But the Ep was fantastic!

PS: surely I wasn't the only one thinking that the bullet from the Gabriel tussle flew into someone in another house?

The episode ended not long after that happened, so the next season could start with them finding a body.

I loved it and am annoyed with myself for deleting it as I want to watch it again. Morgan was awesome (except for leaving the Wolves alive, but not killing people seemed to be theme) and his moves with the jo were legit. I may need to see Morgan and Michonne fight a gang of zombies back-to-back.

The trap with the zombie trailers was genius, although it really is not very efficient if the victims kill more zombies than there are victims.

Glenn was the one I heard was going to die and I was very concerned when he got shot and then foolishly went after coward guy instead of retreating to Alexandria. Very disappointed he did not leave that guy for the zombies.

Even though Rick's speech had a little bit of crazy to it and came with a zombie corpse, it is amazing how much better a reception you get when you aren't raving and waving a gun around. Everyone defending him was niiiice. Maybe they should have all given him an umbrella like Buffy got.

I guess the big surprise was not killing anyone (that we cared see live). The case is so huge though that people are going to have to take episodes off or get split up (Daryl and a few can easily go on an expedition, Carl's friend can disappear and he and a few others can look for her, maybe some characters do try to get a new doctor from Beth's hospital). Obviously some will have to die, but now my 'you better don't' list is up to six with Carol and Morgan recently added. And that's not counting the deeply entertaining Abraham.

Every week I'm blown away by how good Better Call Saul is. I had high hopes for the show and they have been met and then some, far surpassing my expectations. Just one episode left, gonna be a looong wait for next season. It's had pretty decent ratings, no?

Here’s The Single Greatest Decision ‘The Walking Dead’ Has Ever Made
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/03/the-walking-dead-decision/

In 2012, in the early Season 3 episode of The Walking Dead, “The Killer Within,” a crowd of walkers are lured into the prison, and chaos erupts. T-Dog is bitten by an invading walker, and while Carol initially tries to help him deal with the bite, T-Dog eventually sacrifices himself to save Carol’s life in the melee. Later in the episode, Lori dies when her natural childbirth goes badly, and she has to be cut open to save her baby.

That’s the episode we all saw air on AMC. But that’s not how the episode was originally envisioned. Killing off T-Dog was a last-minute decision. It was Carol who was supposed to die, along with Lori, in that episode, and the writers only switched it up after Melissa McBride lobbied them heavily to spare her character.

That was the single best decision anyone has ever made on The Walking Dead, and it’s not just because of what Carol has contributed to the series since Season 3. It’s what they spared that character from in the comics storyline.

If the series had chosen to use Carol’s comics storyline, not only would she have died in the prison, but she would’ve developed a relationship with Tyreese, which would’ve fallen apart under a cloud of jealousy after Tyreese hooked up with Michonne. Afterwards, Carol would’ve not only attempted to sleep with Rick, she would’ve made a play to get Rick and Lori to welcome her into a three-way sexual relationship.

It was Rick and Lori’s rejection of an open relationship that essentially drove Carol to kill herself, allowing a zombie to bite her. She would’ve died in Tyreese’s arms, and Andrea would’ve killed her zombified character.

Given what we know about Carol now, how terrible would that have been?

^ that sounds ****ing terrible. I'm beyond happy the showrunners didn't go in that direction because Carol is 100% the best character on the show right now.

Except that they already did not do any of that awful stuff leading up to when they were going to kill Carol. So it never would have happened if Carol had died, just like it did not happen when she lived.

Now, not killing her was indeed a great decision. But I also have to go with not doing something I am told happened to Rick in the source material. That would be really annoying.

Entertainment Geekly: Better Call Saul is a show at war with itself

This is a stupid article.

F'rinstance...

But unlike its predecessor, the show has no obvious narrative progression.

Who gives a rats ass? It's been entertaining as hell. I don't need anything OBVIOUS. I am willing to let them figure it out on the fly if they keep me glued to the tv like this season has.

I have been stockpiling Saul and I just might start watching it. It worked for Fargo last year.

I disagree. My wife and I think it's taking waaaay too long for something (anything!) to happen. Back story is one thing and usually interesting, but nothing has really happened for 3 weeks. I'm flat out getting bored. And when Jimmy went to talk with HHM about the potential case, are we supposed to believe the key players hadn't talked about finder's fee / compensation before they presented to the entire firm? come on - LOL! at least use some common sense.

I agree with the EW writer: kill chuck.

We'll watch the season finale, but I have low expectations.

I think taking time on the backstory is good as we all know the end result character "Saul" and taking the proper time to get there was important.

What back story???? This was ALWAYS presented basically as the origin story of Saul Goodman. And it's been brilliant how they have feathered in so many elements. I'm not sure what show some of you are watching, or what you were expecting. It has gotten stronger as the show has gone on and if that episode which was all Mike ain't at least NOMINATED for an Emmy, something is really wrong.
