All Things:AMC television

I gotta wonder...is it Kirkman? AMC's brass has proven themselves to be more prideful than smart in the past...but that seems too easy. I dunno man. Someone keeps trying to pull defeat outta the jaws of victory over there. Then again, the creators and showrunner on Hell on Wheels all jumped ship too...seemingly after the show was renewed. Just a shame because Mazzara was clearly doing a very good job judging by the first half of his first real season not trying to clean up the mess from Darabon't heave ho. Puzzling.

I hate to say it but the law of averages will catch them sooner or later. They can't continue test fate like this. The show improved under Mezzera I thought but I still wonder how good it could've been under Darabont ...

Kurt Sutter, Shawn Ryan Blast AMC Over 'Walking Dead' Showrunner Exit - Hollywood Reporter

Everyone could use a friend like Kurt Sutter. This is so egregious though that the mild mannered Shawn Ryan weighed in too. They were soooooo lucky surviving Darabont and that whole mess. And yeah, maybe it's the strength of the material, but Mazzara was EXCELLING in his first real season. Why do you chance it???? Especially when he was being groomed to replace Darabont in the first place, due to his prickly nature. Why have a showrunner if you want TO RUN THE SHOW?????

You have got to love Sutter and his comments for other creative voices. He cuts right to the quick - love his comments here.

Does anyone know what happened to The Walking Dead marathon that AMC was supposed to show yesterday and today? I thought they were going to show it all from the beginning and all they showed were this season's epi's! My daughter wanted to start watching. Frackin'AMC!

I was surprised by that too. And why have a marathon that starts @ 8pm and ends at like 5am on New Years eve to day? Something happened. Apparently the back to backs of s1/s2 in b&w are supposed to happen in February, but yet another AMC fail. How often do the execs @ AMC have to screw the pooch before someone actually notices?

I was going to suggest Netflix for Seasons 1 and 2, but I didn't realize they were supposed to do the black and white this soon.

And if you don't have Netflix, then you should. They offer 1 month free.

TV Bits: ‘Girls’, ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘Happy Endings’, ‘Don’t Trust the B—’, ‘Archer’, ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Mockingbird Lane&#

The official reason for Glen Mazzara‘s departure from The Walking Dead may be vague “creative differences,” but it seems the real explanation could come down to money. One writer speculates that Mazzara may have wanted a raise that the stdio wasn’t willing to give him.

Christ almighty.

All good things must come to an end. If there's anything I hate is when shows I like get dragged out and watered down in order to just keep it going. As sad as I am to see great shows end, it's better than seeing them fade into irrelevance.
