All Things:AMC television

TWD was right on the mark tonight. Great start Gimple! And the reveal post credits was absolutely awesome! I thought it was a Conan spoof at first ...

I'm glad I stuck around. I wasn't expecting a post-credits teaser.

SUCH a great episode tonight. definitely one of my favorites. Carol's my favorite character and she was a ****ing badass tonight. and I may have cried a little when she was reunited with the group.

May have....Tito, get me a hanky.

Wow. Wow. Wow. That might be the best episode the show has ever had, right from the beginning when it looks like Rick and company are going to bust out with their makeshift weapons and then boom, so much for that idea.

Certainly the slaughterhouse was the most chilling scene ever. Zombies are terrifying, but they are essentially just a force of nature. It's the people who are obscenely evil. Good thing Carol is such a good shot with a bottle rocket, right Glen? She was very awesome throughout the episode. The guy in the shack was a close second in the slaughterhouse, and really should have been put down (or at least secured better) on his third obvious lie when they first met him. Great move by Rick taking out the last gunman from behind - just like my Batman game I've been playing except where Batman is a dumbass and won't take the gun.

The ending was just a giant delicious cherry on top. I was so glad a season or two to finally get that guy back for just an episode, even if he was totally messed up (that episode is another candidate for the very best one); it should be interesting to see where he fits in. Maybe he will be the first one to run into Beth.

They need to go back - Michonne can't find a katana just anywhere. I'm going straight for that cutlery store in South Coast Plaza to pick some up when the zombie apocalypse hits. Then I'm off to Vegas.

We all need to calm down a bit, TWD always has done premieres well...it's the finale's they have trouble with. That was a very strong episode though. Sure hope they can match that. Was I the only one who was glad when Carol didn't shoot the MeaterGreeter but instead opened the door for the walkers to do the job? She is the leader that Rick just...isn't.

Totally agree to curb my enthusiasm as I am probably the show's biggest skeptic on our board. Carol truly is a great leader and to see where she has come from where she started is great.

Minor nitpick...why come all the zombies are dressed in, what appear to be, clothes made out of hemp and burlap. You never see a freshly turned zombie with a semi nice pair of dockers and an izod shirt. I realize there is wear and tear, but for distinguishing purposes they need to vary it up a bit. All long pants and long sleeved shirts that appear to have been made from the same unisex pattern. I know it sounds silly, but watch next time. They can't all be long dead. There has to be fresh zombies being made too.

Funny that on Talking Dead over 80% said Carol wouldn't be a better leader than Rick. And poor Conan, he lost his poll too. LOL

So Nicotero said on TD last night that the zombies are going to be even more decayed this season. Maybe that is the deal? But really the recently dead could possibly be wearing Dockers and a polo shirt, right? Knowing AMC maybe Nicotero has less budget to work with .... LOL!

Carol has become a great one-woman ass-kicking machine, but she did leave a poorly secured sociopath in the hands of a wuss with a baby nearby.

I think the reason most of the walkers are in rotted clothing is because the vast majority of the walkers are all long dead - they died in the first weeks of the zombie apocalypse when people were completely unprepared, the easy pickings were there to be easily picked, and the world turned to crap as Rick slept. If any sizable percentage of humanity was around after a few weeks, they would organize a serious zombie destroying operation.

I thought Bob was a goner in that slaughterhouse scene when the head d-bag took off his gag to chat with him. It wasn't going to be Glenn, because they f-d with him twice with the guy with the bat taking the windup, and also they sure as hell better not kill Glenn.

I was very happy with the pace and content of this episode, and I didn't want to punch Rick or Carl even once. Carol and Daryl are my favorites so I loved her being the savior, and his reaction when they were reunited. My small nitpick: shouldn't Carol have still been covered in blood and guts? She looked way too clean, and I think it would have been even more powerful of a reaction for Daryl to embrace her in all her bloody glory.

Seriously, no one? After that?

I insisted that the facts were that Bob was the most expendable character, and my friend said it was a poor argument and I didn't have a leg to stand on.

There was a story today on EW about TWD having to up the grusomeness. I guess they missed a few Eps of The Knick. LOL

ah god, I almost gagged watching the Bob-B-Q (KeBob?) scene. ick. that was giving me major Sin City flashbacks as well.

I'm going to assume he was crying by himself in the woods because he was bitten. I hope this is true and it somehow poisons the cannibals. I don't know how the virus works, but that would be sweet, sweet karma.

That's what I thought about him crying in the woods. The guy that guested on Talking Dead this week was reading so much into everything else that I was shocked he didn't speculate on this.

Yup. This. Gotta be. They almost telegraphed it. And sorry Gareth, but you are digging being a sociopath too much to solely be a product of your tragedies.

Man, I followed up Sons and an eye gouge with this last night...restless sleep indeed.
