All Things:AMC television

It is hard to make your point when you are covered in blood and waving a gun around, but to each their own.

All I know is that Carol is even more awesomer than ever. If the zombies knew about her, they would all just impale their heads on thin metal fence posts to avoid her impending wrath.

At this point I think Carol is almost as beloved as Darryl. Both of them and...a 'surprise' cast member will be on talking dead next week. Better not kill Carol.

I honestly would probably stop watching this show if Carol dies. I'd be pretty okay with anyone dying except for Carol.

Bonus points if Gabriel dies.

Gabriel definitely has an expiration date. He and Abraham are rarely on the show, most likely for budget reasons. Is it me, or does the chick who 'does' ole Abe look way better in her zombie fighting mode than she does 'cleaned up'? She doesn't even look like the same person.

The "surprise" cast member will be the goner... no way Carol & Daryl are going anywhere for a while.

Joseph Gilgun Cast as PREACHER’s Irish Vampire Cassidy
http://collider.com/preacher-joseph-gilgun-cassidy/

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s Preacher pilot for AMC — based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon‘s 90s comic — has another bit of co-lead casting info. Though we still don’t have our Jesse Custer, we now have our Irish vampire, Cassidy, who will be played by Joseph Gilgun (This Is England).

Deadline describes the character as,

The most wild-ass, bestest “bro” you’d ever want to meet. He may be 100 years dead but no one’s more boisterously alive than Proinsias Cassidy. An incorrigible mischief-maker, Cassidy’s up for anything — joyriding, bungee-jumping, bank robbing, peyote dropping. He’s also a relentless conversationalist with opinions on everything from religion to politics to pop culture to theories on why people are better able to tolerate the odor of their own flatulence.

So just an Irishman. If you’ve seen any of the gritty This Is England series, you know that Gilgun is an excellent actor, who can go at it hard while still maintaining a charming magnetism (although in Lockout he’s just straight-up terrifying).

My guess is Pete or the other idiot that caused Noah to die from Alexandra.

I tend to agree... Rick's group is likely safe through the finale. The only one I could see biting the dust would be Tara succumbing to her head wound. It would be a shame to lose those knockers though.

That would be a wasted opportunity. I don't think anyone is going to die from anything other than zombie inflicted deaths. Gonna go out on a limb...let's see...who is at risk? I am gonna guess the broad that Rick and Pete are fighting over...or maybe their kid.

It's been said that the finale will make people angry. I'm thinking that one or more of the core takes the opposing side, setting up a death match between friends. I also think there's a possibility that Deanna was referring to the lying coward guy or the doctor instead of to Rick at the end. If she's so astute, why has she put idiots in charge of important things? Maybe she knows they're ALL idiots, and is realizing that she needs to join the core in order to survive. That, or she's just good at masking stupidity.
Have they ever shown how many people are inside the walls, or how big the area is? Maybe I missed something, but it seems like Rick has basically been foot patrolling a 4 house perimeter. I had a much better sense of the town in the Governor's arc.

For those of us who read the comics ... I can totally see the tv show following the comic story arc here. I do think they will throw a curve ball for effect though ...

Sad part is I remember very little about the story arc of Alexandria prior to the whole upcoming major player to be introduced. So it is all relatively surprising to me whatever they do.

Some times I wish I had forgotten the story as well. That is why I am looking forward to the spinoff series.

I had the exact same thought.

Same here. I remember bits and pieces, but I don't recall what's going to happen next. It's nice.

I think Abraham is the least important character that can die and leave some viewers angry, but it will probably be worse than that. I don't think there has been a season finale (possibly not even a midseason finale) without someone getting killed. I have two guesses, but I will keep that to myself. I think it is less likely to be a zombie - half the point of the show is that the humans are capable of so much worse than zombies, and we just lost Chris and Deanna's son to the zombies.

Gabriel is probably going to do something really retarded to cause bad things to happen. Maybe he will let the zombies in.

The people in Alexandria have no idea what is outside their walls, which is why they run things the way they do. I am pretty sure the show suggested that hardly any of them had actually faced a zombie. All they have is their incompetent runners, who we know like to lie, and probably come back talking tough after peeing their pants and running from the zombies. The smart thing to do would be to let Deanna run the town and Rick's group run every last bit of the defense, which was what she seemed to be allowing until the disagreement over wife beater dude. She made a political decision to ignore it because the town has to have a doctor, and Carol can't ignore it because of personal experience, while Rick can't ignore it because of who is getting beaten. If Deanna confronted wife beater dude, he probably threatens to hold back his services. This is why certain college QBs never have to answer for their indiscretions.

The solution is to cancel his ass and take a convoy back south to pick up some new doctors from the hospital where Beth died.

Abraham's lady did look better in the Tomb Raider outfit, but who wouldn't? Besides dudes, obviously.

It would be a great fakeout if it was Darryl or Carol that died and not the mystery guest. Except for the part where Darryl or Carol would be dead. It might also be interesting if the whole story about the spinoff series was a lie and it really happened by half the cast leaving Alexandria and half staying, mixing things up.

‘Preacher’ Has Cast Another ‘Misfits’ Alumni As The Irish Vampire Cassidy

While he has been steadily working in film in TV in his native England for a decade, Preacher marks only Gilgun’s second U.S. gig — he is co-starring opposite Vin Diesel in the upcoming feature The Last Witch Hunter. Gilgun is repped by UK’s Hamilton Hodell and Peikoff Mahan.

You probably recognize Gilgun from his work on the series Misfits, airing on the E4 network in the UK and streaming on Hulu here in the States. He also had roles in This Is England back in 2006 and the Guy Pierce/ Escape From New York rip-off Lockout.

I’m sold on him as Cassidy and I think the rest of the cast looks great so far. I’m just anxiously awaiting to see who will be playing Herr Starr and The Saint of Killers because I think those are the make or break roles for this series to be a success, at least in my opinion. These are all steps in the right direction, though.
