All Things:AMC television

MAN. We got hoodwinked. Amc and the BB guys just used Saul as a vehicle to sell a show about Mike the Fixer.
If this is what hoodwinked looks like, I want to be hoodwinked more often.

BCS renewed for season three.

Man, that sucked. Down a doctor...how do they let her go on a run for Christ's sake!

And...come on y'all. You KNOW you are all becoming #teamEugene.

And Carol...oof, bad writing there. NO WAY Carol acts selfishly like that and puts, what is really starting to look like Darryl, in Negan's batting range.

HUSH!

I now think it's either Darryl or Morgan. Darryl because she put him in that position. Morgan perhaps because he tries to "save" her one last time before it backfires on him.

Or Carol.

Or Maggie.

It changes every week.

Eugene now might deserve his own show.

At least it keeps you guessing. The doctor being killed off like that was a total shocker.

I was NOT expecting Denise's death. Holy ****. I'm going to be annoyed if she died to fuel Daryl's man pain. Eugene was great tonight. I loved the scene with him and Abraham arguing.

I'm soooooo not a fan of Carol running away like a little kid. "I can't do this anymore! I'm running away! Don't follow me!" I mean, COME ON. She's smart enough to know that SOMEONE is going to try and go after her. I genuinely don't think she'd ever be that dumb to put someone else from the group in so much jeopardy for her. Ugh. Just UGH UGH UGH. Bad writing there.

Saw someone mention that we still have not seen Morgan riding on a horse, as was teased in the collage of images put out before the second half started. So...is it Morgan who is gonna get it? Will he trade his life for another? It really has been Russian Roulette this whole second half, and sooner or later, someone is going to find that bullet. At this point, i really don't know if anyone is safe. I really hope they go way off the map and it's someone nobody could have seen coming.
Yeah, agreed on Carol...but what can you do? They had to get pieces moving somehow...so I will forgive. It came on fast, but she has been breaking hard...I guess you could chalk it up to extreme PTSD, still...it's sloppy.

SPECULATIVE SPOILERS
As far as Darryl getting it, the link I posted earlier really makes a strong case for the fact that Darryl is kind of upsetting the balance. that there are too many 'second in command' characters. And the writers, or Kirkman's influence, whatever...have really had a hard time finding good use for him. He has been spinning his wheels a lot. It will suck...but at this point, WHOEVER IT IS...It HAS to suck. It HAS to hurt and leave a void, and have EVERYONE swearing off TWD for good. I think they realize that the long break till next October, will give the viewers a long to to heal and forgive. And 90% of the ones who vow to never watch again...will be sitting in front of their tvs come next season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Morgan is the one to go after her, though the previews framed it like Daryl is going to do it. It would be nice for Morgan to do something useful. He did build a pretty sweet jail cell though.

I love Daryl, but I agree he hasn't done THAT much lately. His character arc has kind of stalled. I know I'll be heartbroken if he does end up being the one to die in the finalie, but I honestly think Glenn getting Lucille'd would hit me way harder in the feels.

The Glenn thing is just way too obvious with the book tie-in and all. I can tell you that your reaction is spot on as when he fell off the dumpster and it looked like he was a goner my wife and daughters screamed and burst into tears thinking he is gone. And two of them knew what happened in the books! I still am not sure if Kirkman and Gimple have the stones to get Glenn but I will say they have no idea how to use Daryl and never have. He was just this cool character that took off in popularity and they haven't been able to figure out how to use him. I am thinking Daryl or Morgan are the odds on favorites but someone is going to meet Lucille and there will be the next actions that lead to a jail cell next season.

And jd this is what I really, really, really hate about AMC. Just doing these killings to create drama when good writing should do it. Either follow the canon or don't. It just so feels like they have a toe in and a toe out of the water with Kirkman on the writing staff. If I was the show runner he would be a special adviser only. I would want the story to be my own. As good as Gimple has been there has been a heavy Kirkman influence since Gimple has had the show.

Daryl and Carol, or Glenn and Maggie. Boom! There's been so much hype that it has to be absolutely shocking, so I'm leaning towards 2 long-timers going down.
Just in case, has a specific riot location been determined, or do we all just riot wherever we're at? I'm going to look pretty silly screaming around the cul-de-sac by myself, but I'm willing to do my part.

I think, this is a special case. You cannot introduce Negan without that iconic moment. And, along with all the hyperbole, I think Gimple has done a great job wrenching the most out of it in a truly perverse and playful way. As far as the Kirkman interference...I think that's been a problem with the show from day one. Yes, even your beloved Darabont. It's part and parcel of the show and you have to just accept it.

Can't wait but going to be sad I know. Probably be rioting right after too.

For anyone that wants to answer....

Do you think Daryl's character arc stall is a victim of the cast expansion over the last season and a half?

Yeah. I also think that since Rick is such a total fumbling boob, it's almost impossible to give him a strong second simply because anyone with half a brain is going to overthrow the Ricktatorship. Rick is what would have happened if Mayberry experienced a zombie outbreak and Barney Fife was the one in charge.
