All Things:AMC television

I am confused as to where Preacher is going, but I still have faith.

It doesn't seem like we're getting the whole Jesse's parents met when the father returned from Vietnam and a woman call him a baby killer story.

We got a Q-bert cameo, so that's gotta count for something, eh?

See. And I am not ok with that. I am not sure folding in Quincannon is a great idea either, although...if they want to recajigger the storyline where Jesse thinks Tulip/Cassidy are dead...I can see where they might be going. But Jesse's parents...and his father in particular...you cannot claim to be a fan of the source material and not regard that part of the story as untouchable. It's madness. Those events color the entirety of everything that is Jesse Custer. And...I have a very uncomfortable feeling that the ashtray that young Jesse 'stole' and older Jesse still carries, is being set up to replace a very key item. And I am having real trouble with that to. I have to think casual viewers are about to drop off if we have more episodes like last nights extreme backwards step.

Also...talk about transformation. The Governmenterrrrrrrrrrrrrr Angel that appears to be in charge. Is the same guy who played Meyer Lansky on Boardwalk Empire. Almost unrecognizable.

Yeah, I am not really digging the Quincannon thing so far. It's like they felt that because they cast Jackie Earle Haley the feel that need to have the character more socially integrated with the community instead of the outright mad weirdo he is in the comics. Hmmm...

Don't get me wrong, I think JEH is NAILING the part. It's the use of the character and inserting him into the important backstory that I have issue with. I keep reading how this season is more or less the prequel...where they show Jesse finding and then losing his faith. I don't entirely agree with how that has been handled so far but I have to give them time to try to dig their way out of it.

Man...Hell on Wheels...

And Turn. ****, someone has to die in the season finale. Will it be Simcoe, Rogers, or Abe????

So. The Swede. FINALLY.

Gonna miss this show.

I am a few weeks late, but he should've stayed dead 3+ years ago at the rail bridge. After what was done to Lily, there's no way Bohannan would've let him keep breathing, and yet there he was season after season. Props to great acting over the years, but the writing...

Yeah, I think there is gonna be a learning curve with 'the voice'.

this is a pretty good report card

What’s Working And What Needs Work On AMC’s ‘Preacher’

Agree with it all but I like the Saint. They are laying the groundwork of his character. Just wondering how far they will go (to h-e-double hockey sticks and back??!!) for episodic main stream television ... I loved the scene of the crows exiting his home through the chimney ...

They are going to give this as much chance to survive as they can. A second season was almost inevitable. Being that all AMC shows start slow notoriously, I think they will be better once the growing pains are out of the way and they start correcting based on the critiques.

Still no news on TURN, which had a pretty solid s3 finale'.

I am going to give Preacher a chance, haha, at least more that I gave the Walking Dead. :P

The ending in the last ep gave me some hope. ;)

Turn? Spoiler. I think Washington ends up winning.

Want to give Preacher some leeway after how excited some of you on here got after it was turned into a show.

It hasn't been dull but I have no fricken clue about a lot of things going on. Seems like they throw new things at you every episode without Turing them together very well. From a non comic reader I would like to know a little bit more on how all these things relate and come together. Will continue to watch.

I feel the same. So confused as to what all is going on.

All I know is, once this show ends I hope the Irish guy gets his own show..

Review: After another wild fight scene, 'Preacher' keeps dragging its heels

Disagree Orph. After a promising first 10 minutes that went all gonzo with the Seraph...this show settled back in to it's usual BORING self. The source material was ALWAYS like that first 10 minutes. It was the closest they have come to even teasing the potential. But they seem to be interested in slowing this to a CRAWL...and they are making Tulip a shrew with almost no rational motivations. I am getting very irritated with this show.
