Review: After another wild fight scene, 'Preacher' keeps dragging its heels

Disagree Orph. After a promising first 10 minutes that went all gonzo with the Seraph...this show settled back in to it's usual BORING self. The source material was ALWAYS like that first 10 minutes. It was the closest they have come to even teasing the potential. But they seem to be interested in slowing this to a CRAWL...and they are making Tulip a shrew with almost no rational motivations. I am getting very irritated with this show.

Yeah, the most intense parts were before the opening credits, but still. And poor Arseface. Dunno, I sometimes think I am letting too much pass on this series, while sometimes I think people who have read the comics are way too critical. It was a game changing comic after all. I am less critical about things overall in terms of adaptations these days.

Hmmmm, is the world ready for a more tolerant and less critical Orphy? I might watch BvS again, haha. ;)

I am watching the Preacher season final (I actually kept up with a series for once), and, I stand by my opinion that the series is not perfect, but it's okay and has potential to get better.

I still feel like I have to apologize for enjoying the series. I don't trust my taste, that is all, haha. :P

Great cover. Really jazzed for new season. I love the anticipation of the cliffhanger. And I love all I am reading about things being turned upside down with Rick and the Gang not being able to earn an easy out. My only fear is that they will return to the status quo too quickly. This is it Walking Dead folks. Once Negan is gone, there really isn't going to be a true threat anymore. The anticipation of Negan, the utter hopelessness of the situation...when they extricate themselves(and they will), it will be hard to imagine that they can be beaten by anything. And that's a boring show. And with Ezekiel and Shiva being introduced as well as the Kingdom, the opportunity for this show to truly take some interesting chances is sitting right there. I know that it will ultimately disappoint by going safe and predictable, but hopefully they manage to create some fun moments in between. Don't True Blood me Walking Dead. My optimism is at an all time high. At least tickle my ass with a feather before you default to safe mode.

Hell on Wheels:2011-2016

Well, another fine show comes to a satisfying close. A show that survived and thrived despite low ratings and complete changes of creative staff. Once AMC settled it into Saturday, with a Western themed day to support it...it found it's limited, but dedicated audience. Always fine fine storytelling anchored by Anson Mount. Supporting cast was full of familiar faces and new ones, and always up to the task. I don't think the show ever sagged. It was like the railroad that drove the plot. Finale' was open ended enough to justify a revisit someday...maybe, while providing closure. But, if not, I will always fondly look back on this show. Y'all should have been watching from the beginning, but fear not...you can always binge it.
I will miss this show very much. Thank you for a terrific run.

Season finale tonight. Don't spoil it, JD. ;)

I have the full run of the Preacher comics and they are probably worth the most now that they are even gonna be worth. I should sell them and use the money to buy cheap vodka and falafel, haha.

This is my favorite cover of the series. Well, maybe. ;)

There is still a lot of story to tell with the Kingdom and Negan. Knowing this network they could drag that out for five more years!

without any spoilers yet on preacher finale...

WHAT THE *%&^ WAS THAT

Mild spoilers

Well Sweet Shi_e F_ _ _adoodle. That my friend was this show finally getting off the goddamned ground. While I understand that they had to launch the show from a more narrative based format, up until the second half of the finale', it was NOT Preacher. As soon as faux God entered the picture Rogen and company FINALLY embraced what made this comic what it was. F'd up beyond repair. I am HORRIBLY optimistic about the show going forward just when I had lost 'faith' in the direction. Getting the Quincannon story out of the way(if we are done with him) was actually a solid move. And substituting meat baby for what happened in the comics is fair enough. Trust me, the real God of Meat is far more perverse and bizarre than what you saw. Still not totally sold on Tulip, and Jesse is finally showing signs of becoming the Jesse from the comics...but now, hopefully they dive head first into the crazed road trip that the comic was. Trust me...I think, after we had to patiently sit through some really boring stuff, things are gonna get real interesting.

Jaysus! No wonder God up and left, lol.

*Possible Spolers*

The scene with the fake God was so over the top and it reminded me of Monty Python, haha. After it was shown that God up and left, the show ep just got really dark and depressing, The scene with Odin Quincannon holding that fake baby was pretty sad. This first season was uneven, but the darkness of a Godless world shown in that final ep shows that it's becoming closer to the tone of the comic. And the upcoming roadtrip should help since the heart of the comic is the relationship of the three characters which should come together while on the road.
