?The Venture Bros.? Season 5 Extended Trailer

It’s been over two years since “The Venture Bros.” Season 4 ended… and that’s far too long to be without one of the funniest series on television!

Fortunately, “The Venture Bros.” will be back on Adult Swim for its fifth season on Sunday, May 19; which is just over two months away. And to promote the pending return of the series, Adult Swim has finally posted “The Venture Bros.” Season 5 trailer that debuted at last year’s New York Comic Con.

And after Hunter Gathers spends about a minute chewing the scenery and setting the stage for the video, we see almost four minutes of new footage including Henchman 21 as a full fledged agent of S.P.H.I.N.X., Billy Quizboy and Pete White at each other’s throats, the running of the goats, Dr Orpheus and his fellow mystics, the Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch’s latest schemes and a flashback to the original Team Venture, as Rusty’s dad goes up against… an evil robot L. Ron Hubbard?!

TOMORROW!! On Cartoon Network!! 1am!!

Set your DVR's. Seriously. This is the anime-on-television event of the decade. Rebuild of Evangelion.

The early 1990's original series is brilliant (aired on CN in 2005). The rebuild is all-new animation. Not to be missed. Such a great and original story-line! We literally counted the weeks between VHS tapes when it was being released here in the States for the first time.

i'm a big fan of the series as well. collected the subbed vhs then the dvds when they first came out domestically. i have the first two eva rebuilds on blu-ray but i still watched the first one on adult swim.

the upcoming movie "pacific rim" by guillermo del toro has a somewhat similar concept to evangelion but they used mechas controlled by two pilots. looking forward to that movie as well.

Some of the most chilling scenes in any science fiction work I've seen have been in that series. The episode where Unit 1 eviscerates Bardiel (the 13th angel which invades the body of Unit 3) and the following episode where Unit 1 goes completely berserk and literally devours the 14th angel and its S2 engine while physically absorbing its pilot were just mind-numbing. Having rewatched the complete series at least half a dozen times and understanding the nuances and concepts of philosophy and religion and existentialism that are presented makes it even more amazing.

It's top of my scifi list and probably always will be. I can't recommend it enough. Can't wait until the final rebuild is released here in the States.

MOD NOTE: I laughed my arse off at this comic, but had to pull it for profanity. -FBJ

THE CROODS Review. THE CROODS Stars Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, and Ryan Reynolds | Collider

The Croods feels like a visually stunning adaptation of a forgettable newspaper comic strip that never existed (perhaps it’s a close relative of B.C.). It’s something you flip past because the characters are flat and the format has become undemanding. There are punchlines and cute moments, but it’s not intended to be memorable. It’s filler, and The Croods will fill the Saturday afternoon of a family with small children. But the studio’s storytelling has become beyond tired, and although The Croods has a lesson about the importance of taking chances, Grug’s motto at the opening of the film, “New is bad”, might be hanging in the offices of DreamWorks Animation.

Rating: C

I laughed out loud at, "We order them in bulk."

Shinji is a whiny little bitch with daddy issues. The series is all about Misato anyhow, if you think about it. She was there at the sight of the 2nd Impact. She knows all about Lilith and what it will take to prevent the 3rd Impact. And it's her that kicks Shinji in the ass to go out in Unit 1 to attempt to keep Seele's plan from going forward to instrumentality.

Yeah. He failed. So what? :P
