Tim Roth Said He Made The Universally-Panned FIFA Movie So He Could Put His Kids Through College

You probably could have seen from a mile away that the FIFA movie funded by FIFA would bomb, which makes it kind of surprising that a highly-regarded actor like Tim Roth would come on board and play the role of the organization’s president, Sepp Blatter. The good news is Roth is aware that the film was bad, and during a Reddit AMA, he said that the only reason he did it was to help his family.

The film is awful (can’t say that because I haven’t seen it) I hated doing it, it was the wrong film but for the right reasons. I had two kids in college so I had to make a decision and it was probably poorly judged, but once you make that decision you have to follow through. It’s a hard road, being in something you don’t want to do, but I’m glad I did it for my family.

Paddy Considine Starts Shooting His Next Directorial Effort 'Journeyman' In March

Currently in pre-production and shooting in early March, Considine wrote the screenplay, will direct it and will also star. Jodie Whittaker (“One Day”), Faraz Ayub (“Honor”), Tony Pitts (“War Horse”) and Paul Popplewell (“’71”) will form the main members of the supporting cast. Here’s the official synopsis:

Journeyman is a powerful and beautiful story about loss and, ultimately, triumph. It's about our identity, and how in life we sometimes have to dig deep into our soul to discover who we really are.

Matty Burton is the middleweight boxing champion of the world. Now, coming towards the end of his career, he knows that he must make his money and get out of the game. His aim is to secure a home with his wife Emma, and a future for their baby daughter Mia. His opponent is the brash and controversial Nassar Ali. A big puncher that courts controversy with his outlandish statements. Nassar's intent is to rip the title from Matty, a task that Nassar feels is going to be easy. After a titanic battle, Matty returns home to Emma, but moments later collapses on the living room floor from a delayed reaction to a devastating punch. When Matty awakes from the coma, the real fight begins. Suffering from memory loss and with his personality altered, Matty must begin to piece his life back together as his world disintegrates.

As long as I'm in this thread, I should mention that I enjoyed Hail, Caesar!, and the cast of that movie is worthy of many pages here.
 
Steve Buscemi will get an Oscar nomination when he plays the lead role in the Don Knotts bio. Do it Hollywood!!!

Doesn't look like this'll be anything new, but it seems like the kind of role that'll give Walken a chance to shine.
