Tooth Fairy 2? I guess you haven't seen the trailer for "The Three Stooges" yet. OMFG. Didn't even know that abomination was already in the can. Razzies winner for sure!
Coming off a terrific dramatic turn in Jason Reitman?s Young Adult, Patton Oswalt is now looking to star in Ben Stiller?s next directorial project. Showblitz reports that Oswalt is in talks to star in Stiller?s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The film is a remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye film which centers on a LIFE Magazine proofreader who, incapable of standing up for himself in the real world, retreats to a fantasy where he becomes his poised, confident opposite. Stiller stars as the proofreader, Kristin Wiig is onboard as his love interest, and Shirley MacLaine is set as Stiller?s mother. Oswalt will play Todd, ?a friendly eHarmony counselor who helps the protagonist create an online dating profile.?

A tough bit of serious news to chew on today. ABC News reports actor Daniel von Bargen was rushed to the hospital recently after a failed suicide attempt. The actor had starred in Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions and also appeared in The Silence of the Lambs, The X-Files and Thinner and also co-starred in O Brother, Where Art Thou?
According to ABC News, the actor - now residing in Ohio - tried to shoot himself in the head with a Colt .38.
He attempted to kill himself to avoid a hospital appointment in which he was to have two toes amputated due to diabetes. He told dispatchers: "I shot myself in the head, and, I need help." You can hear his 911 call here.
To horror fans, Von Bargen was known as "Nix" in Barker's Lord of Illusions. Very sad news and we hope he pulls through this.
When asked if he thinks he’ll get Tucker to return to the series, Cube replied, “I hope so.” I think it’d be really great to see Cube and Tucker back together onscreen. Tucker only appeared in the first Friday over 15 years ago, so it’d be fun to see where Smokey is now. It sounds like he’s currently waiting to hear who will and won’t be back while he works on the script, so hopefully deals get finalized soon so things can move further toward production.

What do you think of this design?
The story follows Assistant Scoutmaster Randy Stevens (Oswalt) who convinces his brother Kirk's (Knoxville) adopted 10-year-old son and his friends to ditch their slumber party and embark on a weekend scout trip in an effort to honor his father's legacy. As you might imagine, things don't turn out as planned. And while Oswalt wants moviegoers to come into the film fresh when they see it at SXSW, he does hint that fans of Rohal's work will not be disappointed. "I think it’s a really funny comedy but [Todd Rohal] does not follow the standard beats of comedies. That’s all I’m going to say. I don’t want to tell you much about it because I want the audience to be surprised."
Written and directed by Todd Rohal, Nature Calls stars Patton Oswalt as a Boy Scout enthusiast who takes a group of reluctant Scouts into the woods to try and revitalize his dying troop, only to be chased down by his anti-Scout brother, played by Johnny Knoxville. It also stars Rob Riggle, Maura Tierny, Darrell Hammond, and the late, great Patrice O’Neal, to whom the film is dedicated. As a huge fan of O’Neal’s, it truly pains me to say these things about the movie, but he would have agreed. Nature Calls is like an animal distracted by a shiny thing. It’s dumb and all over the place with nothing to say.
The beginning of Nature Calls exhibits unlimited potential. There’s a tense, well-shot scene that seems like it’s going to pay off with a huge laugh. It builds and builds but the laugh never comes. The scene, and the movie, just sort of sputters away like a balloon without a knot. That’s your indication you should be buckled up for massive frustration.
