Everyone's In For DUMB AND DUMBER 2!!
Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.

The Farrelly brothers have been talking for awhile about possibly revisiting the lives of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunn for a sequel to DUMB AND DUMBER. There's been some interest expressed by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, and a script was being worked on late last year by Sean Anders and John Morris (HOT TUB TIME MACHINE). Well, it looks like things took a big step forward over the weekend to DUMB AND DUMBER actually happening in that Peter Farrelly told Coming Soon that the follow-up is set to start shooting by the end of the year.

"We're getting set to shoot DUMB AND DUMBER 2 in September. It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."

Haha...Lloyd Christmas, Game of Thrones readers...doesn't that sound like a bastard name?

Ok...probably inconsequential to most, but I have watched Bobcats showtime special a lot lately. He was a funny guy back in the day(IGBY's Kingsqueen!!!!!!!). Still tremendously funny. Check it out.

Just saw the showtime special the other day. I especially like the parts where talks about his relationship with his daughter.

Danny McBride to Write and Star in Sex Comedy CLOWN; Todd Phillips to Produce

Danny McBride is set to write and star in the adaptation of the Danish TV series-turned-film Klovn (Clown) with Todd Phillips attached to produce. Per Deadline, the logline is “two men and a 13-year old boy embark on an R-rated vacation.” In the TV series, two guys plan a “canoeing trip”, which is actually what they’ve deemed a “Tour de Pussy” where they plan to party hard and have lots and lots of sex. When one of the guys discovers that his girlfriend is pregnant and wants to get rid of the baby, he attempts to prove he can be a good father by taking her son on the canoeing trip even though the guy and his pal still plan to embark on their “Tour de Pussy.”

Hit the jump for more.

On Sunday, McBride’s HBO series Eastbound & Down will have its series finale*, but it’s good to know that McBride has a new movie lined up. According to Deadline, McBride will get to work on the script immediately, and I’m curious to see how he’ll make his character in Clown a different kind of horrible caretaker as opposed to how Kenny Powers behaved this season when he was forced to look after his infant son. Obviously, a 13-year-old kid changes the dynamic, but hopefully we won’t see a repeat of what was on Eastbound. There is only one Kenny Powers.

I’ve included the NSFW trailer for Klovn, and you can see why it’s been compared to The Hangover. While Phillips and McBride previously worked together on Due Date, Phillips is only attached to produce Clown at this point. He’s currently prepping for The Hangover Part III, which is set to begin filming in September for a May 24, 2013 release. And if you’re interested in checking out Klovn, Drafthouse Films plans to release the movie in the U.S. on July 27th.

Ok...this is potentially brilliant. Ionly hope that they take it as far as the original.

I hope it's better than Your Highness or whatever the hell that movie was called.

Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken May Star in LAST VEGAS

Yesterday we learned that Michael Douglas had entered negotiations to star in the “Hangover with old people” comedy Last Vegas. The script, written by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love.), centers on “on a quartet of retired boomers who are called upon for a Vegas bachelor party by their friend, a ladies man (Douglas) who is finally settling down and marrying a woman half his age.” Now Vulture reports that Robert De Niro is in talks to join in on the boomer debauchery. Per their report, De Niro and Douglas would play characters that fall for the same girl, so either De Niro is secretly in love with Douglas’ fianc? or, more likely, an older actress will be cast in a different role that the two will fawn over.

Moreover, Vulture adds that talks continue with Christopher Walken to take a co-starring role in the pic, but the studio wants to close De Niro’s deal before finishing up with Walken.

Good cast...too distinguished to go as far as the Hangover went(hopefully I am wrong about that) but isn't Michael Douglas playing to type as an old man marrying a younger woman? Be nice to see DeNiro/Walken in a flick together again though.

KLOWN Red-Band Trailer

VERY NSFW...and this is the movie that Danny McBride is refitting for an American audience. Hopefully they will come even semi close to how uncomfortably funny this movie was...
