FX has put in development Downtown Dragons, a martial arts drama written and executive produced by S. Craig Zahler. Set in the underworld of New York’s modern day Chinatown, the story focuses on rival gangsters who must rely upon traditional fighting techniques to maintain their territories after the triad bosses ban all firearms in the area following a bloody shootout.

In his U.S. TV debut, Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo (Miss Bala) will direct the pilot for FX’s drama pilot The Bridge. Written by Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid based on the Scandinavian series Bron, the project centers on two detectives from the United States and Mexico who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the border after a dead body is found on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez.
