All Things:Fx

Yeah, they seem to have all but completely ditched the humor the last 2 episodes. What seemed a curiosity when it was announced has turned into a terrific surprise. Very unique, and while it has enough to do with it's namesake, it's an entirely different, and some might argue, a better entity. I watched on AmazonPrime so I did not see coming attractions...have they said 'only 2 episodes left' or something like that yet???

And, I will take it by the silence...is ANYONE enjoying Louie? It's been horrible...yes, horrible and I am very close to dropping it.
I have Louie recorded but have not worked up the nerve to watch past the episode when he goes on a date with the Hungarian broad. That bad, huh?

Humorless/joyless and just generally unpleasant. I get it. everyone in Louie's world is odd bordering on sociopathy. OOOOh that's edgy. I don't like when Woody Allen does it, and I ain't fond of it here either.

The Woody Allen influence has definitely been looming large in what I've seen this season. Even the title looks like it's almost straight out of one of his movies.

He should take another year off and go to a 12 step meeting for pretentiousness. He presents this 'Charlie Brown' people's loser persona but his show is just misery draped in cynicism and misanthropy. I dislike people too, but I don't subject you to an hour of it a week dressed up as art. It's an ugly show that is a chore to watch. Legit, which really was a lot similar, draped their misery in some really funny bits and a few genuinely touching human moments. And...that's gone.

Sounds like a fun time. Maybe I'll watch something else.

I'm gonna cry when Fargo is over. The show is just all sorts of awesome.

Reading a LOT that Hawley has been asked to do another season...and he isn't sure he can. Would rather this go one-and-done knocking it OUTOFTHEPARK, than diminishing returns.

Sweet **** that was a helluva episode of Fargo. I forgot to breath a couple times. Seriously, thank you Fx and American Horror Story for establishing that a single season series could be SO effective and just tight as a drum. HBO will hopefully mention you when they collect some iron for True Detective. Man, I am soooooo live watching the finale' this week. Wow.

EDIT:That being said I really would like to know how the guy got the fox/rabbit/cabbage across the water.

I haven't watched the episode, but that sounds like an old puzzle. If it's the puzzle I'm thinking of, here's the answer:

SPOILER!!!! (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT!)

1) Take the rabbit across, leaving fox and cabbage. Leave the rabbit. Return to other side.
2) Take the fox across, leaving cabbage. Leave the fox alone. Take the rabbit. Return to the other side.
3) Take the cabbage, and leave the rabbit alone. Deposit the cabbage on the other shore with the fox, and return alone.
4) Now, take the rabbit to join the fox and cabbage.

My description might be poor.

EDIT: Oh, it's the episode title. Haha!

what is Tyrant and should I be interested

Yes. Heard it described as Godfather(Michael's reluctant rise to power) set in the Middle East. A)It's Fx, so always worth a shot...b)it's been in development for a while(this is the show that Ang Li was supposed to direct the pilot of after Life of Pi but he tapped out on due to 'exhaustion') so I think it will be fairly well thought out. No reviews yet, but watch this space.

JD, I've gotten through all but the last three or four episodes of Louie now (one of them is movie length?!), and I'm wondering if the stuff with Pamela Adlon has improved your opinion of the season at all? From what I've seen thus far, she's adding a comedic element that was mostly absent the rest of the season.

Speaking for myself, I mostly enjoyed all the stuff with Hungarian lady, but I have zero clue what the deal with the big storm was. Assuming that pays off later, maybe?

speaking of Fargo - does FX show this online or on demand somewhere? I feel like this is a show I probably should have watched..

Fx has that OnDemand service that NO carrier seems to have yet. Other than that, all I can say is that Fargo, which seemed like it might have been a bad idea when they were initially discussing it, is one of the best things I have seen on tv in some time. Honestly, comparable to True Detective in it's flat out brilliance. So yeah, you dropped the ball. Telling ya, if it's on Fx, it's probably worth watching.
