LOS ANGELES, December 12, 2014 – FX Networks has ordered the comedy series pilot Atlanta created by and starring award-winning actor and writer Donald Glover (Community, 30 Rock), it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, the Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions.
Glover serves as Executive Producer, along with Paul Simms (Girls, Flight of the Conchords, NewsRadio), and Dianne McGunigle of Schiff Company. The pilot will be produced by FX Productions.
“Donald Glover is a uniquely talented actor and performer who brings real-life experience to this subject matter,” said Grad. “Not only is Donald a very gifted actor, he has achieved tremendous success and acclaim as the musical artist Childish Gambino. He, along with Paul Simms, has a very honest, sometimes serious, and funny perspective on life, the world of rap music and the city of Atlanta.”
Atlanta revolves around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy. Glover will play “Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,” a college drop-out who reconnects with his long buried ambition and sets out to seize the life he imagined for himself when his estranged cousin becomes a sudden star.
Glover is an award-winning actor and writer best known for playing “Troy” on the Yahoo! (formerly NBC) sitcom Community. As a writer on NBC’s 30 Rock, Glover received a WGA Award for best Comedy Series in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Just last week, Childish Gambino received his first ever Grammy Award nominations, collecting two nominations for Best Rap Album for Because the Internet, and Best Rap Performance for 3005.

'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Reveals How The Seasons Are Connected
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/...08.html?1418908394&ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000024

I am going to phrase this carefully...AHS has sorta lost me this season. Telling a good story has taken a back seat to promoting(and I am not even sure that is the correct term) a gay agenda. I get that Murphy is gay and I have no problem with most of the allegory he uses to relate the plight of homosexuals to freaks despite it's heavy handedness...what I do take issue with, and I would imagine some gay folks might too, is Murphy's need to shove the more salacious and dark sexual side of things. The scene where Dennis O'Hare was slapping his two pronged schlong in front of Michael Chiklis was unecessary and just too much. For all the good he(Murphy) does to promote an agenda near and dear to him, I think he does a disservice by presenting the unpleasantness. I understand there has to be balance...but I am a fairly tolerant person. And it is questionable to me. To the midwest conservative this has got to hurt any positives that he may be able to get across. Just an opinion, and feel free to correct me. I just think the 'pushing the envelope' has just been ill advised.

According to a press release sent out by the SVOD service, Hulu is going to become the exclusive streaming home to new series including Tyrant, The Strain, Married, You’re The Worst, Man Seeking Woman, The Comedians, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, Taboo and the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan-produced FOX event series Wayward Pines. In addition, the service will also begin offering non-exclusive streaming to Sons of Anarchy, American Horror Story, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie, Archer, The League and Wilfred.

Wow. Last weeks Pepper-centric episode of A/H/S was truly heartbreaking. I love this show when it sticks to telling the story instead of whatever hamfisted agenda Ryan Murphy tries to shoehorn in. He needs to reign in his 'flourishes' a little more regularly.

Anyone else thinks this is looking pretty hefty? And the timing as far as police/African-American relations...

Max Charles Joins ‘The Strain’ As Regular In Recasting

Huh...didn't think the kid was that bad. Maybe it's a scheduling thing.

Working with kid actors on a series is always tricky as they grow, change and mature as seasons go by. I hear the second season of The Strain features a deeply emotional storyline involving Zach’s character, and the producers looked for a young actor with a range that can accommodate that.

Or not.
