Ryan Murphy Is Planning A Creative Reboot For Season Five Of ‘American Horror Story’

Man, apparently there has been a lot of griping about this season. Not sure I get that. It's been a good season overall in my opinion. My previous complaint about trying too hard to shoehorn in social issues in the most unflattering of depictions notwithstanding. What is everyone expecting. I'm not sure any of the seasons have really ended strong, but the journey along the way always has some intriguing moments. I think, if anything, this season might have a chance at a decent ending, we will know this week. Regardless, I love the format, and, warts and all, AHS is a must watch every time.

Well...I can't say I am surprised, but I was saddened by the passing of _____ ____ on the season premiere of JUSTIFIED. Got a strong feeling he won't be the last character to meet the wrong end of a bullet. As far as the showdown...when it finally comes, are they being cagey with Art's counsel that 'sometimes things don't go the way you see them' or is that foreshadowing? Raylen has taken a turn on this show from rogue-ish rule breaker to seemingly a man who isn't always about the law. His rough treatment of Ava is hard to watch without losing a little of the shine you have for the character. If/when something happens to her, will he care? He seems consumed more and more with accomplishing what he wants, damn the collateral damage. All sorts of nice little side plots already developing too. Garret Dillahunt being the one the bears the most watching. Strong start to what hopefully will be a kickass barnburner on the way out. Gonna miss this show terribly.

what the %&^* was the Freak Show finale last night? Weeeird.

Spoiler Alert

This is my first season watching American Horror Story. Is it a common thing for them to just start killing off virtually all the characters over the course of a season? And to move so quickly? (i.e. Elsa's rise to fame, fall from grace, and beyond)

This was easily the most uneven season so far. Lots of fits/starts and episodes that did not mesh well with the ones previous or after. It started out well with Twisty and when he 'got called home' the show lost a LOT. They tried to replace it with some really ugly ugly stuff (the male hustler and his death, Del's subplot etc). Ryan Murphy is a gay man and it's puzzling what he was trying to accomplish with some really unpleasant stuff that just seemed to disappear as quickly as it popped up. Too much reliance on Dandy, who despite killing someone in almost every scene he was in, was really a bad joke of a character. Too much vamping this season. Angela Basset going 'oh lordy' at every opportunity, Dandy, NPH just stopping by. And yeah, deaths happened way too often and easily making them a little 'less'. There were a few bright spots. The musical numbers. Elsa's star moment(with a chainsaw). Wes Bentley and the Freak posse. But overall the story was just kinda all over the place. It's almost as if they decided to do the Freak Show thing...and they figured it would take care of itself. Lots of rumors of revamping things, maybe NOT using the same actors. I love the format and even with mixed results it's a show I look forward to every week. But they do need to tighten up. Focus a little more on maintaining a plot all the way through a season. All the other seasons have their faults but they all also have their moments. So if you want to go back and check some of em out be prepared for both. If that was Jessica Lange's last go, it was a strong way to finish.

Yeah NPH was just kind of....gone.

Well spoken. It just seemed like a lot of short stories thrown together.

Jessica Lange was awesome.

I was surprised how it was just like okay times up let's kill everyone off..

But I still enjoyed. It was hard to look away

Why oh why did I stop watching Always Sunny...? So wonderfully and dementedly populated by some of the most wretchedly charming sociopaths.

Man Seeking Woman

Ive watched the first two episodes and really enjoying this. Its a quirky/absurdist comedy on FX after IASIP. Jay Baruchel is ok...but the guy who plays his friend Mike is hilarious. If you havent watched check it out.

On a somewhat different note, I watched a bit of Two Men as we as Big Bang recently- complete trash.
