All Things:Fx

Fx just pisses me off. I accidentally deleted our dvr copy of last week's Fargo episode before my wife watched it. So I figured, no big deal, I'll record it some day at 2:00 am and be good going to the season finale, or she can just watch it on demand.

Well, it won't be on demand until AFTER the finale is shown, and it is not being broadcast either until after the finale?!?!? wtf?! Wouldn't Fx try to maximize their audience? This is they go about doing it?!

Fx shows so much crap between midnight and 6:00 am, yet they can't throw in a Fargo rerun?!?

Why would they do this?

Because they want you to use FxNow...which, depending on your cable company, you should have access to. Not ideal...but the streaming market is threatening to become the new normal and traffic ='s ratings.

thx for the info. We do not get FxNow (TWC) and I really have no desire to add it to my android.

but they did throw us a bone (I guess) by putting the episode my wife wanted to see on demand. So I'm off the hook a bit. (note to self: never delete recorded shows your wife wants to watch within a week of the recording)

TWC is actually FINALLY on the FxNow app, just fyi.

Kinda a pain in the ass, but at least it's an option.

‘Fargo’ Creator Noah Hawley Just Spilled A Few Details About Season 3
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/12/fargo-season-3-premiere-date/

Gonna watch the finale later on today. Thanks for not posting any spoiler so far. There are a lot of post mortem articles dissecting a lot of different aspects of the finale' so once I see it I will post any that seem pretty relevant.

I would love to see those links.

I said a few posts ago here that I was expecting the finale to be anti-climatic and I thought it was anti-climatic. Still, one of the most intense series that I have ever seen.

This one is the best...

The Terrific ‘Fargo’ Finale Tied Up Loose Ends And Set Up The Rise Of Moses Tripoli
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/12/fargo-finale-moses-tripoli/

We also learned Hanzee’s fate. His entire fate. And it turns out it involves Lorne Malvo. This was very cool. See, when Hanzee got his new identity and slid out the Social Security card, the name on it read “Moses Tripoli.”

If your brain started wrinkling a bit when you saw that, there’s a good reason, and it’s not just because Moses Tripoli is a great fake name. It’s also because Moses Tripoli was the mob boss who ordered the hit on Lorne Malvo in season one, which backfired spectacularly and ended with Malvo killing him.

Also, Mike Milligan's 'reward' felt so much like thew finale' of another Fx series...rhymes with The Shield.

SPOILERS

Yeah, that finale looks like it's setting stuff up.

I for one would welcome more Mike Milligan. That character is equal parts a-hole and smooth criminal! :O

I liked just about everything about Fargo, but I just wasn't down with the little green men. Mike Milligan's reward had me laughing out loud. For a guy like him, truly a fate worse than death. "Accounting?"

oh man. I didn't even put the Moses Tripoli thing together.
I really liked the finale....didn't LOVE it like I was expecting, but I enjoyed it and it left me pretty satisfied. I'm TOTALLY down with the aliens though. It's so bizarre and out of left field and I love it. Peggy's "It's just a flying saucer, hun!" is probably my favorite moment from this season.

I'll echo everyone else's sentiments and say that I want more Mike Milligan as well. Such a great character.

While it was uneven, and relied on the absurd aspects a little much...I really kinda liked this show last season. Sure wish Wilfred was still on because these two would make a killer back-to-back night.:rasta::manybeers:

wow Fargo! - what a flat ending to a very good series. I was just kind of shocked where the finale went.

Did we have to spend 10 minutes on the guy going into the Gerhards house to steal silver, and then the KC guys lecture him, before killing him? - which was no shock at all. A guy who had no character development over the entire series?? And why go for the silver, when there is likely cash somewhere in the house?

And throwing the hit man into a KC window office for his next job? in 1979, make a hit man an accountant? really?? that's how he wraps up?

And the final gun chase scene with Hansee going after Ed and Peggy. weak. and were we supposed to think he stabbed the bully kids on the baseball field? too little too late.

My expectations were much higher/different I guess.

and just realized, that after the shootout at the motel, instead of chasing ed and peggy, hansee would have drinven to the gerhard's ranch to get as much loot as he could get. Why waste time chasing the butcher when the gerhards house may have the money/valuables for his future? As is it, he spent 35 years with the gerhards, with nothing to show for it.

‘Fargo’ Creator Noah Hawley and Producers on Season 3 Timeline, UFOs, and More
http://collider.com/fargo-season-3-noah-hawley-interview/

Unlike the first season, I think the second season hit it's peak a little early. Which, considering the palpable tension, it kind of had to. I am not complaining. I like the way it ended...kinda softly. I was glad we didn't have to experience Mrs. Solverson succumbing to her cancer...and all things ended relatively good for the good guys. I think people would be complaining less if the middle episodes hadn't been so tense. You just can't lose characters like Bear and especially Dodd and keep up that kind of quality. Still think it was one of the best shows this year and look forward to the next season.

Louis C.K. And Albert Brooks Are Creating And Starring In An Animated Pilot For FX
http://uproxx.com/tv/louis-ck-albert-brooks-fx/

Louis C.K. is starting to wear on me. That 'Baskets' show from him and Galifinakis looks like all the surreal/artsy/pretentious flourishes that have overwhelmed Louie to the point I can no longer enjoy it. Maybe stop trying so hard to be the second coming of Woody Allen with a Beret.
