All Things:HBO/CINEMAX

I have to say, a lot of this season has been working for me. It's not entirely satisfying, but it's wayyyyy better than the last few seasons. They've finally gotten back to the relationships between vampires and humans (and fairies...whatever), which is what was good about this show in the first place.

The Tara storyline was amazingly dumb and Alcide's death was totally pointless, but I've quite enjoyed most of this season. It's actually made me hate Bill a little bit less. Only a little bit though. #TeamEric
This pretty much sums it up for me. Tara's storyline was pretty much pointless. Glad it's done with.

well, the True Blood finale was beyond disappointing.....to no one's surprise.

although I'm pretty sure I still hate the Dexter finale more.

Bwah ha ha...

Leftovers was unbelievable. Just a great show. Hope they put out a soundtrack so I can sit in the darkness and listen to it. So wonderfully sad and depressing. But in a good way.

‘The Leftovers’: Sometimes You Have to Pretend it Didn’t Happen

But what’s troubling about ‘The Garveys at Their Best,’ then, is the heavy-handedness of how it delivers some of the information to the audience; the little moments underlining the tragedies to come feel too strained, too self-aware, or too extreme at times.

This isn’t necessarily a dire complaint; most of what The Leftovers has presented this season has certainly been on the extreme side of somber and grief-stricken, with small bits of levity and humor thrown in on occasion. And for those who’re attuned to appreciate those elements in the amounts they’re doled out week after week, the show has been emotionally effective and lyrically beautiful in ways even some of the best shows on television struggle to achieve.

This is about the fairest most 'gets it' review of the show I have read. Emotionally effective and lyrically beautiful. Awesome.

Yep the finale of Trueblood was boring, except for the Erik and Pam scenes.

Anyone else watching The Knick? It's a very odd show. Almost an ANTI-drama. Everything is presented clinically. No antagonist or protagonist to speak of really. And it truly seems like if you needed surgery you were well and truly f'd. The doctors perform 'procedures' which are more like experiments with a 'well, it would have gone the same way if we did nothing approach', and outside of SPOILERS Max Headroom, who snuffed it early in the first episode, they have a lazy, dismissive attitude towards the results. It's not unwatchable, but I got to the end of episode 3 and was wondering WHY I am still going to watch. Soderbergh really seems to be uninterested in actually entertaining people.

why did it take them the whole season to figure out they would kill the japanese cowboy?

can't believe I forced myself to get through the whole final season

True Detective Season 2 Air Date Window Shifts

HBO’s head of programming Mike Lombardo dropped this bomb:
“We’re going to start shooting [True Detective Season 2] in September…
HBOWatch: Oh, great! Sounds good. The cast must be in place and the scripts almost finalized…
…for it to air next summer.”
Damn. True Detective season 1 aired in January of 2014. We were expecting True Detective season 2 to premiere in January or February of 2015. This means the window has been pushed back six months or so. Not the news we know True Detective fans were looking for.
If we were to guess we’d put True Detective into True Blood’s old summer air slot. That would mean TD:S2 would premiere sometime in late June, a week or two after whenever Game of Thrones season 5 ends. Analyzing the calendar: June 21st, 2015, plus or minus a week is our long-shot guess at a premiere date for True Detective season 2.

True Detective Season 2: Justin Lin to Direct Initial Episodes

Someone want to tell me what kind of oral hijinks this guy must be capable of to garner almost every prime gig lately? That GI Joe movie was only worth noting because it wasn't half as gawdawful as the first one, and are the Fast/Furious movies REALLY that good? Come on already. I just don't get it.

They all have one thing in common. They make money.

Not sure how the **** he gets something like True Detective, though.

I am liking the Knick a lot. Not for the squeamish. Ep 1 and 3 were brutal. LOL
