All Things:HBO/CINEMAX

May I say it is good to have Nucky and the gang back? It promises to be a very interesting last season of Boardwalk.

EW says HBO passed on "Open" the Ryan Murphy created show with Anna Torv and a bunch of other good actors... hope someone else picks it up.

Interesting choice if true. He's not a personal favorite but he can act, no doubt about it.

Man, the buildup in this final season of Boardwalk is sloooooooooooooooow. It's not doing anything for me so far. Hopefully my patience will be rewarded.

BE is always like that. I argued in the past that it might be better served binge watching. Every other season seemed to pick up steam rolling downhill and I have no doubt this one will also finish strong.

You're right about that... Usually the second half is intense enough for me to forget the slow build. Hoping that's the case again. Part of me just wants Rosetti back and everything to be bat**** crazy again :)

Interesting choice with Vaughn.

At one point, before he became EXTREMELY lazy, he didn't just phone his 'cool guy Ryan Reynolds in Waiting meets Swingers' schtick in to every cookie cutter project he signed onto. If he can go back to that it might work really well.

Yeah, I assume they didn't just pick his name out of a hat. I remember him in "Clay Pigeons", he was quite good. Like I said, interesting. Maybe he's hoping to get back into doing some more serious things and this was his avenue.

Boardwalk was really good last night...'have you had your coffee???'

The scenes between Nucky & Margaret were terrific. I did read last night though that this is a short season, which is odd. Only 8 episodes, gonna be hard to fit in everything on these back 4. I hope Eli's kid doesn't factor in too much because they have done NOTHING with him so far. Who didn't see that Empire State Building statue and guess what it's eventual purpose would be. I realised with all the coffee talk that I missed Eddie terribly. Anyone besides me enjoying the flashbacks? Definitely filling in the missing pieces of Nucky's story. We still don't know how Chalky would up in prison.

I imagine that Eli's kid will have a prominent role to play; otherwise his entire story just has no purpose. He will be put in a position of having to choose between his loyalty to Nucky and his job is my guess.

I do like Nucky's back story flashbacks. Speaking of Eddie, at the beginning of that scene when Margaret was teaching Nucky's bodyguard English, when you couldn't see them, I could have sworn for a second that was Eddie's voice, which had me very confused. As far as the Empire State Building, I'm glad the base was used as a bludgeon and the other end was not used, uhhh, in a different manner, which is what I was worried might happen.
