HBO Really, Really Wants A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Spinoff

To be based on more books George R R hasn't written yet?

Or. . . you could spin it based on books he HAS written. Give me Ser Dunk and Egg!

I wish they would do The Wheel Of Time (minus the books in the late middle when the proverbial wheel comes to a complete stop), but that is just a straightforward adventure story which would not provide any of the cache or awards nominations that Game Of Thrones does.

Westworld I may record when they replay the whole thing before the last episode. Depends on my DVR status.

Finally watched Westworld. Wow, before I say anything else...you can see how this is an expensive show. The town looked a little set-y, but man, those sweeping panoramic vistas. Acting across the board was exceptional. Lots of Crichton earmarks, especially the cold storage full of decommissioned 'hosts'. A few characters(the whiny Brit, the eager on the trigger head of security) need a little fleshing out, but I have a feeling that there is a LOT more development heading our way so I am hesitant to judge too quickly. I am pretty sure that was Michael Wincott buried under a ton of make up in the scene where Hopkins was talking with Bill(can't hide that voice), so I am hoping there is more of that to come. But the biggest take away...jeez, how good is Ed Harris?

Couple spoiler/speculative points

Hadn't had an incident for 30 years...Ed Harris' Man in Black has been coming there for 30 years...coincidence, I think not.
Are they on another planet? 'When do you rotate out?'

Long story short...this could be a very good series. Has the danger of skirting the line of keeping/revealing secrets, but one episode in and I am very optimistic.

I think the Man in Black was the co-creator of the park but Ford bought him out or something and the dude gets a free pass every time to Westworld and he wants to find out what the end game was. Thank you all, pack it up.

Did anyone watch Divorce or Insecure? I'm not sure about Divorce, as the tone going forward will be different than the set-up in the premiere episode. I don't think the characters are going to be sympathetic or even likable, so I'm on the fence right now. Insecure was hilarious. It's quite vulgar, but the style is realistic rather than outrageous like the McBride shows. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I suggest giving it a try. You'll know in the first few minutes if it's up your alley or not.

I finally was able to watch both episodes yesterday. I was wondering how they would keep me tuning in as it felt like they had been giving so much away but I think I will keep tuning in. The whole Civil War and Bluecoats looks intriguing especially with the weeks ahead showed the man in black in a Union coat. Agree it could be another planet. Really loved the vistas and backgrounds - just breath taking. Overall enjoying very much.

I highly recommend the new Reddit sub for Westworld (/r/westworld/). It's quite new and there's only around 30000 subscribers. Some really good stuff is on there (as evidenced by Nerdist just 'borrowing' their theories).

Today best post was all about the maze... which is shown on the poster(!).
