All Things HORROR

Watched The Babadook last night and... ***Spoilers Below***

I didn't think it was all that great, story wise. The acting between the boy and his mum, was fantastic though.

So that ending... The Babadook ended up being all like "Ahh, never mind all that stuff like, umm... killing your kid and yourself, we're cool. I'll be your pet and live in your basement and stuff. You can even feed me worms!"

Is this right or am I missing something?

[TV] “Tales From the Darkside” Pilot Ordered

Not sure how I feel about this. The charm of the original was it's 'rough around the edges' diy kinda mentality. If they want to make this a serious attempt why not V/H/S the series or something like that. If you have never seen TFTD, go to you tube and watch the Granpa episode. It really is all you need to know about the original show.

I'll just say I was indifferent to the ending. It didn't take away from the movie for me but I can see how it might for some people.

Please post your review if you do. I've decided to wait to order it. For now.

You know I will. It's supposedly Cronenbergian though...woulda figgered you'd be all over that. I got Why Don't you play in Hell, 3 episodes of Black Sails, and an entire season of Black Dynamite lined up too(Kingsqueen out of town, so it's catch up time!!!!).

I'm already so behind. I don't know when I'll be able to get to it. I got Why Don't You Play In Hell on Tuesday and haven't watched it yet. I see it sitting on my coffee table, mocking me.

I did pre-order Babadook, and I'm having a hard time not just ordering Starry Eyes, I just don't know when I'll get a chance to watch them. You thumbs up will likely be the last straw on that, though. :)

Man I dig this movie sincerely. Saw it again recently and it stands up so well. William Sadler, Billy Zane...hell even Jada Pinkett Smith is good in it. It's a fun trip with some swell old school Fx. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor. Great soundtrack too.

Satisfy the Darkness with the First WE ARE STILL HERE Trailer
http://collider.com/we-are-still-here-trailer/

Andrew Sensenig (Upstream Color) as a couple who move into an old New England house that once served as a funeral parlor, only to find that there’s some “trouble” hiding behind its walls – not too surprising given that the former owners used to ship dead bodies off to Boston’s Chinatown to be turned into chop suey.

The trouble looks to be some kind of pissed-off, molten monster and the creature effects look outstanding. Not to mention the gore, which, if this teaser is any indication, will be significant and brutal. This is a take-no-prisoners trailer.

We Are Still Here is produced by Travis Stevens (who also produced former SXSW Mightnight hits Cheap Thrills and Starry Eyes), and marks the feature film debut of director Ted Geoghegan. The film also stars Larry Fesseden (I Sell the Devil), Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow, Mars Attacks), and Monte Markham (Life Partners), and will have its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival.

Here’s the official logline:

In the cold, winter fields of New England, there sits a house that wakes up every 30 years and demands a sacrifice.
