Bait 3D (Blu-ray / DVD) | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

this 'sharks in a supermarket' flick is really getting some nice notices. And....THEY USE ANIMATRONIC SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not all cgi. For that alone I give it a thumbs up. Odd that, as a 3d flick, it did not get a theatrical release. Xavier Samuel(Loved Ones/Twilight) and Julian Mc Mahon(Nip/Tuck,FF movies) are in it so it's not exactly a straight to dvd. I mean, Pirahna3dd got a theatrical release.

Review: '[rec] 3' Is A Triumphant, Wryly Knowing Deviation From The Tired Found-Footage Horror Genre | The Playlist

Plaza and his confederates could have continued, with great profitability, to repeat the formula. Instead, Plaza chose to expand the scope of the '[rec]' universe and create something genuinely fresh and new, a bold and brazen comment on the found-footage genre and a supremely entertaining horror comedy. Zombies need fresh flesh to survive. So does the horror genre. And right now the found footage genre is looking pretty rancid.

I liked it!

24Framespersecond.net - Trailer for Indonesian horror BLOODY SISTER GEPENG

Get ready for a cheese overload. A first trailer is out for Indonesian horror Bloody Sister Gepeng and they’ve thrown everything bar the kitchen sink at it. Ghost, goblins, psycho nurses, WWII Japanese soldiers?, teens in peril and a strangely unidentifiable trans-gender character all make an appearance. It’s wall to wall (made for pennies) naive B-movie Fromage, from beginning to end, and for that we should perhaps be truly thankful? Keep a special eye out for the fake blood - that’s patently thrown at the wall - straight from a bucket! Bad, mad, campy fun. Made our day…that’s for sure.

Wow...that has it all. The black haired asian child growing out of another human being, the Ringu/Cousin It hairinface look, the requisite crabwalk...and so much more. I counted 6 buckets of blood being thrown JUST in the trailer. And the Indo shim...classic. Especially when it goes running away from the closet like a little uncoordinated girl. No closet for that hermaphrodite!!! No Sir. Yet...I was almost reaching for the ffwd during the trailer. I can no longer in good conscience watch unrepentant trash. Sorry Birdemic 2. Lifes too short.

TIFF Review: 'Berberian Sound Studio' Is An Unnerving, Original Psychological Horror Anchored By The Great Toby Jones | The Playlist

And while you might shuffle in your seat a little during the film, but like last year's other unnerving British surprise, "Kill List" (that film admittedly much more of a pure genre exercise than this), you come out of the theater on edge and off kilter, amazed at the craft displayed. It's hard not to wish, at least for the more narratively-inclined among us, that Strickland had made things a little less wilfully opaque, particularly in the somewhat abrupt conclusion. And as welcome as the humor is, it does drift into caricature every so often. But despite the minor blips, it's as original and absorbing a picture as we've seen in a while, an experience like few others in 2012, and should mark Strickland's arrival on the world scene in a big way. [A-]

Don't get too excited. Most of the reviews are coming back 'Art-House horror flick' and basically as annoying and unsatisfying as that title suggests. Style over substance and glaring plot holes disguised by artsy flourishes. Don't get me wrong...Toby Jones is awesome and the premise is enticing, but the majority of the TIFF reviewers left irritated.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 Teaser Trailer | Collider

Look, you people will probably go see this. Enjoy. Whatever.

Haha! I am going to produce a paranormal activity movie about dolphin ghosts.

Oh, but seriously, I so get you ob this. I watched the first PA in the theater because people keep on telling me how scary it was supposed to be. I've had statistic exams scarier than that movie, lol.

But I also get that people do have fun with these movies. But, lol, that judgmental part of me can't understand how people are willing to spend 10 or more dollars to watch these movies. And that judgmental part of me would rather people donate that money to charity and if you want, I'll sneak up to you and scare you. You might enjoy that better as a scare, haha.
