All Things HORROR

Friday Night Frights | The Cinefamily

Good month for horror @ Cinefamily next month. Too bad it's all midnighters though. The Monster Squad showing would be fun, and another chance to see John Dies at the End with a crowd...But the one I gotsta do(and you too Kingsqueen) is ABC's of Death. Have heard repeatedly that is one you WANT to see with a crowd. Anybody interested?

Oh yeah, Adgy...another chance to see THALE.

I admit I don't like anthologies much but that movie is absolutely terrible.

THE CONJURING Trailer and Poster. THE CONJURING Stars Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston | Collider

Here’s the official synopsis for The Conjuring:

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

I might have said this before, but I hear really good things about The Conjuring. It's going on my "must see" list for 2013.

Sam Raimi Clarifies His 'Evil Dead 4' Comments; Has His Passion Returned? -Bloody Disgusting

Just the other day it was discovered that Sam Raimi made a huge statement regarding the much-desired Evil Dead 4 in the press notes for Oz the Great and Powerful. “I would love to make Evil Dead 4,” Raimi stated further adding, “My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.”

The kids at Bleeding Cool caught up with Raimi at the Oz junket to get a direct response straight from the horse’s mouth. The news isn’t great, but it isn’t all that bad either. Read on to see what he has to say about getting Bruce Campbell back in the saddle and revved up for a return as Ash…

“Those guys made me say that,” Raimi told the site. “I am thinking about it but a crowd goes ‘Come on Sam, do it!’ so I said ‘Okay, I guess I was talking to my brother about it.’ But I feel like I was pushed into saying that, a little bit.”

He continues talking about his fears in making bold statements: “I’m afraid that every time I talk about it people get really mad at me when I don’t follow through with it. I would like to work on the script over the summer, that much is true. But the reason to come back and do it again is only that they’re making me, those fans.”

His older brother, Ivan, has been a strong voice in getting Raimi excited again: “I was saying to Ivan ‘Why do they stay on this thing? Why do they keep at it?’ and he said ‘They want to make a movie. You’re a filmmaker and your fans are asking you to make the movie. What are you, an idiot? Make the movie!’ I guess there’s something I don’t see. It makes sense when Ivan says it… but I didn’t have a tremendous amount of passion until right now to bring to it.”

The good news is that is sounds as if Raimi is actually considering it this time. It also sounds like he may once again be passionate about it. Watching the Fede Alvarez-directed remake get made must have pushed his creative buttons. Could we see both worlds collide in the near future? Let us all pray to the movie Gods.

Joe Lynch's Knights of Badassdom Being Held Up by Greed and Stupidity | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

It was at the San Diego Comic-Con 2011 when the world got its first look at Joe Lynch's next film, The Knights of Badassdom. The crowd went completely wild. The movie has a great cast, tons of energy, and looks like an absolute blast. But then it came.... silence. A disturbing silence.

Out of nowhere word of a buyer's screening taking place in Los Angeles hit our radar. We immediately started doing some digging, and what we found left us with our jaws on the floor. A site, created by someone we can only assume is an investor in the film, called Badassdom.com sheds some sobering light on this really ludicrous and sad situation.

According to it the film that will be screened for buyers on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at AMC Century City titled Knights of BADASSDOM is not the REAL Knights of BADASSDOM. The last known cut of the REAL Knights of BADASSDOM was seen in July 2011, just before Joe Lynch and key members of the cast of the film took the stage at Comic-Con to promote their picture and Joe Lynch's vision.

So what is showing? Apparently, from what we understand, the cut being screened tomorrow night is a rushed, thrown together version that Lynch has nothing to do with and is in no way a refection of his vision of the movie. The site goes on to reveal that basically the film has been taken hostage by certain entities at IndieVest Pictures, and they have been screwing things up as much as possible for a while now.

Wade Bradley is the named culprit on the site, and apparently he has been editing the movie without the involvement of the producers and/or the director. “Mr. Bradley set about editing KoB independently and in violation of his contract with director Joe Lynch per the Directors Guild of America Creative Rights Handbook. The most recent edit is roughly 70 minutes long and includes significant changes to the original story and concept.”

Click on the above link to read what is basically an open letter to the IndieVest Board of Directors. How will they react now that this situation has been brought to light? Who knows? We'll be following this story closely from here on out and will let you know once we have something solid. In the interim the only thing that we can report for sure is that Lynch and his film are without question the victims of some truly under the table business dealings, and we hope that this situation can be rectified ASAP.

Stay tuned.

Wow. Hey kids...want to enter the exciting world of filmaking????

Full Moon Gets Into the VOD Biz, Debuts OogaBooga | Shock Till You Drop

Following a successful preliminary run with fans, Full Moon Features is thrilled to officially announce their new video streaming service at Grindhouse, host to the weirdest, craziest, and most unbelievable grindhouse films from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s – and brand new world premieres – all from the convenience of a computer or mobile device via the Grindhouse App.

The first film to make its world premiere on the service is OogaBooga, a tongue-in-cheek grindhouse exploitation flick in the vein of Django Unchained, starring two-time Golden Globe winning actress Karen Black (House of 1000 Corpses), Golden Globe winning actor Stacy Keach (American History X), Siri, the curvaceous pornstar, and Internet sensation Maddox, creator of the self-proclaimed The Best Page In The Universe. in his memorable film debut.

Ooga Booga is directed by the prolific Charles Band, founder of Full Moon Features, and follows the murder of an innocent African-American medical student whose soul is transferred into the body of an obscure toy, eventually extracting his revenge by killing racists in the city.

“We wanted to create an unparalleled movie site for impossible to find cult classics,” explained Band. “This service will finally make it possible to discover the obscure films that played in decadent art house cinemas years ago, and be first to access our exciting world premieres, such as our newest feature film Ooga Booga. ”

For only $4.99 per month, fans can stream rare and bizarre film gems instantly on any device (including iPhone, iPad, Android, tablets, and desktops) with four new films being added to the library each month. Titles include new world premieres, such as Ooga Booga on March 12, and obscure favorites such as Necroplis, Savage Island, White Slave, Riot in a Women's Prison and many others.

Those who purchase single movies will have access to a permanent digital copy of the film. Renting isalso an option, for $1.99 per title.

This is a groovy little platform idea. Price is reasonable enough to consider.
