All Things HORROR



Not even sure if this belongs here. This movie had a half panel @SDCC and it felt...undercooked. Like all the fits and starts that this movie went through were because it was not something that was easy to port over. Nothing I have seen shows this to be anything other than the results of a will to just 'get it done'.

Many brilliant horror movies did not make the top 100. Lots of them were on the spill-over list, though. I like that the spill-over list included 27 Dresses. Haha!

Surprised that some of these weren't even in the spill-over. Off the top of my head, I think I'd put The Mist somewhere in there, too. Of course, there are probably plenty more to consider.

I think the original Saw suffers from the weight of all the sequels. The first one was clever and subtle whereas the sequels all sort of succumbed to the formula by amping up the torture porn elements while trying to shoehorn in some kinda convoluted twisty reveal at the end.

Agree. And that?s the travesty of s*** sequels. Sooo many good horror flicks fall prey to this.

Saw as a standalone was fresh and new, absolutely loved it. Even though Cary Elwes acting is god-awful, the storyline and pace really supported the few glitches.
 
Hammer Horror: The Warner Bros Years Blu-ray

The classic Hammer films from Warner Bros are now finally starting to appear on Blu-ray. However, they have never received an in-depth exploration in any special feature or documentary. Now, the fascinating story can finally be told in this unprecedented 90-minute documentary, Hammer Horror: The Warner Bros Years, written and directed by Marcus Hearn, Hammer Films' official historian.

The documentary will feature exclusive interviews with many of the key players from that period, as well as authors and film historians like Jonathan Rigby and Constantine Nasr. Also included will be rare production stills, film footage, Hammer's original shooting locations, and access to previously unseen archive documents. The documentary will be available via streaming and in a limited Blu-ray release, exclusive to a Kickstarter campaign.

Extra Features:

In addition to the main feature, the blu-ray will also contain extended interviews with some of the key participants. Other extras will be announced as they become confirmed.

Kickstarter campaign. I just plunked down a $35 pledge that will get me the Blu should they reach their funding goal.
