I used to read Henry James's The Turn of the Screw yearly because I am a nerd, lol, and when I finally got to The Innocents I was pleasantly surprised. It is very well shot, acted (those kids are pretty kid), and the subtext from the story is handed masterfully. Definitely one of my favorite "Haunted House" movies.

I am surprised you found it. I have a hard time finding my pants let alone some movie in my collection I forgot I had. mhihi:

Lon Chaney Jr. did a lot of work later in his life, including some pretty bad stuff, but he always seems to add a certain amount of gravitas in his roles. Spider Baby is one of the best things he did later in life, and I find it wonderfully strange even to this day. I can just imagine what people who saw when it came out thought. But yeah, Lon Chaney Jr. wad pretty bad into alcoholism at this point and there is a sadness to his face in this movie. :(

This article asks, "By the way, do you even remember the other two installments of Trilogy of Terror?"

I remember one in which Karen Black plays two sisters, but for the love of G-d, I can't remember the other one, haha. I guess it didn't compared to the one with the Doll. SO CREEPY! :scared:

Wasn't the original "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" a made for TV movie too? That was pretty creepy. No wonder people who grew up in the Seventies are weird, lol. There are probably other creepy Made for TV from the 1970's I need to watch. ;)

Yes and yes...Check out Gargoyles, that was another of my faves, not to be confused with War of the Gargantuas. And the other installment of ToT...wasn't she a teacher? Some kind of unpleasant sexual goings on? Or is that just in my 'weird 70's' mind?

That's my favorite TV movie ever!!!! You think it's just going to be eerie voices and things moving, but then they show the furry little demons and it's awesome! Do you remember the bathroom scene where one of them picks up a straight razor? Ahhhhh!! I need to get the DVD.

It's one of those (I think) WB titles that they make for you when you order it. As far as i know it's still available.

Oooh, Gargoyles in on Youtube. I'll watch it tonight as part of my 31 October Challenge. I doubt it I'll make it to 31, haha, I am already behind, but it's good to try. I mostly try to watch movies that I have never, for example, The Toxic Crusader, which I watched for the first time last night. :O

I'll try to update my reviews in the Last Movie Watched Thread (if lazyness doesn't prevail, bah).

So, this tonight. Looks like a movie about my ex and her family, tee hee. evil:




Yeah, I think called Warner Archives. I would like to own that movie too. I think I saw that WB Archive edition in the library in all places, but I first saw Don't be Afraid in the Dark on cable like at 3:00 a.m. It gave me another reason not to sleep that night. As soon as I heard the voices of those creatures... :peep:

Try to enjoy Gargoyles. It's a little dated, but it has some wonderful practical fx. And yeah, it's WB Archive...thanks for the assist. I picked up Under the Rainbow and Doc Savage too one drunken night.

Anyone remember that flick with Robby Benson, where he was forced by his mom to live in the walls after he accidentally kills another kid? That was pretty freaky too. I also think that one is a WB Archive flick.

I think you're referring to Bad Ronald, but the kid was played by Scott Jacoby. His mom died, and he stayed in the walls after another family moved in.
