All Things:NETFLIX

So, I watched Stranger Things 2...not sure what all the moaning is about. It was as compelling AND FLAWED as the first season. It just didn't have the privilege of being shiny and new. Yeah, the kids were a little less charming/proficient and the new characters except for ___(R.I.P.), were a little 'off'. But there was just as much to like and dislike. Hero of the day was Steve. And Paul Reiser was actually pretty damned likeable, which I am pretty sure is the first time I have been able to say that. Not to be spoilery, but the relationship between Hopper and Jane was cute/sweet. Yeah, there were some misfires(the punk rock freedom fighters, wasting Pruitt Taylor Vince, etc.) but what did you expect? Go back and rewatch s1. It's not as good as you remember.

I went back and rewatched Season 1 with my oldest and it just made Season 2 look worse. I love the characters from two, original and returning. The execution of the story was just all over the place though. I get that they needed to keep Eleven's story moving, but when Mike found out she was still alive it felt like a dead moment. Kid, go back and watch the last couple episodes if you miss her! Maybe it's the "episode 1" problem... Who's viewpoint are we supposed to be watching from? (I'd vote for Billy). Maybe if the Duffers were given more time to work on it.

Ooooo. That caught my eye too; those wacky brits with their dry humor. My psyche is too delicate for horror.(e.g. took 5 tries to get through two episodes of "Stranger Things" before I had to waive the white flag.) If you watch it can you tell me if it's too scary (use your best judgment) for me, please? thx.
