All Things:NETFLIX

Two movies I got through this weekend:

Spectral
Fun little sci-fi/sciency movie. Ending was a bit disappointing in how the end game played out, but cool special effects. and I'm always down for some "these are real men" delta force type action led by a scientist and cliche dissenting government woman who eventually comes around. Pretty darn good production quality and special effects, showing Netflix is serious on its original content.

Yoga Hosers
In the words of deadpool, what the s***?
Because of my pretty undying devotion to Kevin Smith, I'm trying hard to find some redeeming qualities in this one. If anything I guess I can say (a) the mock karaoke songs with the two girl were kind of cute, and (b) at least the main guy from the Shannara Chronicles got another small acting gig. But holy hell this one took some serious effort. Really the only positive I walked away with was the kind of cool punkish cover of Good Ol Hockey Game in the end credits.

Ok, I know I'm way late to the party, but I never came in here as I don't have Netflix. But after realizing that there are other ways to get it (Bwahahahaha) I started watching The Ranch with Ashton Kutcher , Sam Elliott, Danny Masterson and Debra Winger. I went back through this thread as far as page 32 from January of this year to see if there are any mentions of this. I couldn't find it. So a little late, My thoughts,

I kinda like it. Even with all the flaws. Elliott's hardass dad and Kutcher's rebel son routine is played but they have good exchanges especially when Masterson chimes in.
The premise of Kutcher (who throws like a band member) being a 34 year old semi-pro QB still trying to make the pros is as feasible as me at 51 playing street hockey and have the Kings interested in me. (message me Dean)

It does have funny moments, especially Elliott cussing, but the laugh track is way over the top. I find myself getting distracted by it and trying to laugh along with it. Overtly loud and long on EVERY joke.

Ok, I vented.

Looks intriguing. I'm definitely planning to check it out. Maybe it can fill in some of the hole left by the departure of Westworld.

Read some less than glowing reviews so far...Still want to check it out. Jason Isaacs is ALWAYS good.

EDIT: THE OA MESMERIZES WITH A POWERFULLY BEAUTIFUL PECULIARITY (REVIEW)

The one positive review I have seen. The negative ones are just as passionate. Looks like this may be a very polarizing project.

Just started Fuller House season 2 last night. Thanks to the one of twenty flippin five producers that thought it would be a good idea for Stephanie to cover up...

Nope but I am almost done with both 3% and Glitch, both of which I believe they added in the last month or two.

Little over halfway through Oa. It picks up, not surprisingly, once Jason Isaacs enters the picture. Kind of melancholy, but pretty intriguing.

Holy smokes, I just decided to watch Travelers on Netflix with the Will and Grace guy (Eric McCormack) and I'm digging this show.

The beginning was weird because I was trying to figure out what was happening and there was a lot going on at once. But 2 episodes into this show now, I'm hooked. Anyone seen this yet?
