Jason Momoa Heads To The Canadian ‘Frontier’ For Dull Historical Drama
http://uproxx.com/sepinwall/jason-momoa-frontier-netflix-review/

When you’re an actor like Jason Momoa who is 6’4″, jacked, pierced, tattooed, and have an abundance of charisma to go with your physical attributes, it’s a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you make an impression in every room you enter, and when you’re right for a part, you’re incredibly right for it. But the number of roles tailor made for a magnetic, multi-ethnic giant are few and far between, which is why Momoa’s had an uneven career in the years since his time on Game of Thrones as warrior king Khal Drogo came to an end...

...It’s hard to blame Momoa for taking the gig. Even as he’s becoming part of a mega-budget superhero franchise, his overall work options still seem limited, especially if he and/or casting directors only see him as a tough guy. (He’s done a couple of Drunk History episodes; could he make like The Rock and turn his size to his comic advantage?) Still, “Jason Momoa does historical epic for Netflix” sounds a lot more exciting in theory than Frontier is in execution.

I might be crazy but I'm loving Trollhunters so far. 11 episodes in (there are a lot). But at like 20-25 minutes each on average they're very easy to get through.

the trailer for this is up at post #601

‘The Discovery’ Review: Netflix Sci-Fi Film Is a Dark, Twisty Spin on the Afterlife | Sundance 2017
http://collider.com/the-discovery-review-netflix/#sundance-2017

There are shades of humor here and there, but this is by and large a very dark kind of sci-fi. Its ultimate message may be one of hope, but the stark photography, sterile production design, and somewhat stoic performances give this thing a significant air of seriousness throughout. The grounded approach to sci-fi is welcome in a landscape filled with four-quadrant, bubble gum blockbusters, and even if the film doesn’t entirely come together as a cohesive piece, its admirable ambition and top-notch craftsmanship make it worthwhile nonetheless.

Rating: B-

The Discovery will be available on Netflix starting March 31st.

German. With subtitles. Yes, reminiscent of Htichcock, but Hitchcock's films never dealt with this kind of emotional depth. Remarkable script, amazing direction and the performances from the two leads are simply perfect. I just watched the final scene three times in a row. I am about to watch it again. It is as perfect an ending as an ending can get. The film is worth watching for the ending alone. It's less than two hours. If you love movies, you owe it to yourself. It's a masterpiece.

It took me a while, but Sweet Christmas, I finally finished Luke Cage! :woot:

I really don't know if I could rank these Marvel Netflix series, because they do have their own vibe going, but so far, they are 4 for 4!

I thought that this series did a good job in setting up the character's history and building a suspenseful story with several key villains.

And I am glad that Claire Temple was in this series. Put her in all the Netflix Marvel series. She's the glue that holds them together.

"Always."

"So Corny!"

And I don't think any other Netflix Marvel series is gonna top this one music wise.

Several songs, including one of my personal anthems during many a night of self loathing and drinkin'. Haha.

Having a music club as one of the series primary location was a stroke of genius and allowed for live performances. I got really excited when Charles Bradley came out and don't think that enough people know about him. Hopefully, this series let more people know about his righteousness.

:dancing-smiley:

On to Iron Fist.

Hey jd, is there a website out there that you know of where I can find out if Travelers is renewed for Season 2? Or at least when they'll announce if they'll renew it or not?

That's what I hate about binge watching.. when it's over, it's over. That's the one issue I have with Netflix shows... having to wait a full year for the following season blows.
