All Things:NETFLIX

I am using my free month to watch some Netflix in my free time. We get the watered-down Canadian version so I'm sure we're missing some stuff. :)

The Toys That Made Us - really good stuff. Transformers one coming in the next batch?

Castlevania - a decent R-rated prequel to the NES Castlevania 3 videogame. Running time of around an hour is a bit short.

Will have to watch the new Cloverfield movie soon. Already seeing spoilers online.

I am watching Stranger Things 2 now and then I will move along to... Black Mirror, I guess.

"And if you?re a fan of Cloverfield in general, it does offer a few concrete details to tie everything together or at least explain how things go incredibly wrong."

Only if you don't care that the timeline is completely off if this was supposed to explain the monster(s) from the other movies. I feel like these movies are stand alone monster stories, and Abrams is just using the name Cloverfield to get attention for the successors. It would have been easy and very cool to tie this directly in to the original. To me they didn't, and my brain can't make them work together. If anyone watches it and feels differently, please let me know because I would love to understand if I'm wrong.

They kind of, sort of, I guess in some way, hinted that the particle accelerator thing they shot off could cause "demons" to appear in different time zones? The first cloverfield could be at one point, the one with John Goodman sometime in the future, and the upcoming flick in nazi germany.

I guess? I don't know the whole cloverfield paradox seemed like one big B-movie hot mess to me.

I thought briefly I was in the "Science" thread and that sentence really freaked me out.

Good God!
The last 2 episodes of Peaky Blinders, season 2.
Never thought I'd like Cillian Murphy this much. It HAS to tail off after that.

Yeah. I liked the third season, but that second season is something else. That's when we found out this show is for real. And it has PJ Harvey music galore.

Don't ask me if I've gotten around to the fourth season yet. You wouldn't like the answer. rolleyes:

Actually, did anybody here finish the fourth season? There was a lot of excitement before it was going to come out, but unless I missed it, I don't remember anybody here sharing their thoughts about it.

I enjoyed it, although it was a fair bit more predictable than I expected.

I believe it was not mentioned for fear of spoilers as pretty much any google search will come up with something big. Damn I miss this show already

I liked Season 4, better than Season 3 I thought.

Y'know...it's funny. All the waxing by Adgy about P.J. Harvey and I never thought to check out her music. Well, now I gotta because the stuff they use here is pretty lovely.

Dunno, on episode 5 of s3, And I am digging it. Sure...after season 2 anything was gonna be a letdown. But Paddy Considine as a very bad priest, Arthur being Arthur, crazy Russians...what's not to love?

EDIT:Keerist man, how can anyone complain about season 3. That was epic. Thank Jayzus that I do not have to wait for next season to start. I am gonna be a broken man when I run out of episodes. Spectacular show...seriously.

Edit #2: DO NOT even get me started about Tom Hardy.

RE: Lost In Space

I loved that show and will definitely check this out, but there's no way they'll be able to match the production quality of the original. :3smile:

Lol. Thank you MeTV for allowing me to watch said show on those lonely Saturday nights, haha.

Anyways, no one will beat the portrayal of the kid in the original.

I knew that someone's luck was gonna have to run out in Season 4 of Peaky, just to make the threat credible. But damn it...
