Well well well...Poltergeist was a minor surprise. By the numbers, and a sort of greatest hits version...won't make you forget the original. BUT, everyone plays nicely with the material, and Jared Harris is fun as the Zelda Rubensubstitute...not the worst movie I have seen in a while. As to the soundtrack of ambient noise that Adgy posted about on, I think, the soundtracks page, it was pretty groovy. This movie is unecessary, like all the reviews say...but they did a fairly nice job with it, so...I will give credit where credit is due.

Whatever they happen to make, it's not going to ruin the original, which is among my all-time favorite movies.

I don't think they should try to capture the original tone, but I do think they need to keep the primary Jack Burton gag intact. The problem is whether The Rock's movie fans are going to go for something like that.

I actually don't HATE the Assault on Precinct 13 redo. It has NONE of the original's heartstopping tension, but it's not the worst movie i have ever seen
