Johansson's Controversial "Ghost In The Shell" Role Draws Different Reaction Overseas

"Looking at her career so far, I think Scarlett Johansson is well cast," said Kodansha's Sam Yoshiba, director of the publisher's international business division. Kodansha originally published the manga in 1989. "She has the cyberpunk feel. And we never imagined it would be a Japanese actress in the first place." Yoshiba added that this film is "a chance for a Japanese property to be seen around the world." He also said that a recent trip to the film's New Zealand set left him impressed by the respect with which the filmmakers were showing the source material.

I'm trying to hold judgement until I see a trailer, but I just have a lot of trouble imagining this being done right in Hollywood.
 
Crackle Announces "Snatch" TV Adaptation, Based on Guy Ritchie Crime-Comedy Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Snatch” TV series is being adapted in a similar approach to FX’s “Fargo,” which carries the spirit of the original source material, while following new characters that did not appear in the movie.

The “Snatch” TV series will reportedly follow “a group of twentysomething up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime.”

Because...yeah. Look, we all can pretty much predict what this is gonna be like. Pseudo funny, but not too biting or critical, with tons of fan service cameos. I do not begrudge Dwayne Johnson working, I actually like him. But for f's sake man, feel free to say no every once in a while.
 
That Ghostbusters trailer is terrible. I'll still give the movie a chance, but did I mention the second trailer is terrible?
