According to Vulture, the film is being called a reboot internally, and will apparently take place in a world where the general public is unaware of ghosts ? meaning it?s definitely not (at the moment, at least) being planned in the original Ghostbusters canon. Director Paul Feig describes this version as ?scarier and more hi-tech.?

The main villain is apparently being written for Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage (though there?s been no indication he?s attached yet), who will play a convicted murder who is turned into a ghost following an electrical storm during his execution. The storm apparently gives him super-ghost powers, allowing him to raise an army of famous historical villain ghosts. No, we?re not making this up.

Ok. How can they get something SO right with Dinklage and just be sooooooooooo off with everything else.
Tatum and Pratt are terrific. Really. Very charming and surprisingly adept at comedy. BUT COME THE **** ON!!!!!!!! Just like the rumor that Ryan Gosling was sought for the all girl cast main movie...did they NOT see Ghostbusters? These weren't primarily beautiful people dabbling in comedy. They were COMEDIANS who were questionably cast in lead roles. It just seems that there is this all fired NEED for the studios to rape this brand name...they are already planning spinoffs for a movie that is in the development stages. If they had gone with Seth Rogen et al leading the charge...well that would probably be closer to the spirit of the original. But no...they want to do this ALL- STAR version with Jennifer Lawrence and friends. No mention of Kristen Wiig, which, for once, I would actually support because at least she has comedy chops. I really don't get this. I honestly think all this is going to generate is forgiveness for Ghostbusters 2. Good god I just can't wait for this albatross to hit theaters. It will be huge because...Transformers makes a ton of money. And Ideocracy comes that much closer to fruition.

not in the original canon. Girls. Actresses instead of comedians...WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? How is this a ****ing GHOSTBUSTERS movie? The Logo????? Is that all it ****ing takes these days???????? ****ADOODLe.

Man From UNCLE was/is my dad's favorite TV show of all time, and I watched a lot of it with him so I'm really hoping this turns out well.
