'Terminator Genisys' Sequels Are Reportedly On Hold Indefinitely

In a recent THR piece about movie financiers, there's a buried nugget that notes that even after earning $440 million worldwide, the $155 million budgeted (not including post production costs) "Terminator: Genisys" will probably still lose money (that must've been a super expensive marketing campaign). Moreover, according to the trade's sources "the notion of a Terminator universe is on hold indefinitely."

Nothing against the actress, but to cast a transgender person in this part proves how tone deaf the producers are and just how much they DON'T get it. There was no hope that this wouldn't suck so this just removes any potential doubt. How about Jessica Lange? See there is the kind of off kilter thinking they might have gone for. But instead they do a disservice to transgender folks and to anyone who holds this perfect storm of a movie dear to their hearts.

See...this is why we can't have nice things. Everything is envisioned as a franchise or a damned 'Universe' and nobody just goes out and makes a movie that leaves NOTHING in pocket for 'future consideration'. Nothing good ever came from, let's face it, diluting something into a trilogy...ask Peter Jackson.
