All Things: San Diego Comic-Con

They actually do have people selling those tickets. You'd be surprised. Not as open and deliberate as it sounds like these people are, but they're up on Craigslist from time to time.

Still, crashing servers, website issues, long waits...It's like 2012 all over again. :D

Yeah, but they clamped it down better than you would think. I read that apology and all I could hear in my head was NOOB!!!!!!!!.

http://sdccblog.com/2015/05/nerd-hq-2015-announces-move-to-childrens-museum-details/

As we’d previously reported, this year’s event will be moving away from Petco Park, where it’s been held for the last two years. Instead, it will be headed just a few doors down, to the New Children’s Museum, which features 35,000 square feet, spanning three floors, for a July 9-12 activation.

According to The Nerd Machine, fans can expect “a range of fan-focused interactions on the main floor, “an expanded Conversations for a Cause panel series on the lower level, a range of fan-focused interactions on the main floor, and in partnership with headline sponsor AMC, the entire top floor will showcase exclusive hands-on game play with a number of this year’s biggest titles”.

So it's just a little ways down from where it was and everything else is about the same. Sounds good to me.

Welp, Thursday just got busier:

http://sdccblog.com/2015/05/doctor-who-to-take-over-sdcc-hall-h-on-thursday/

It’s possible that we could see a shift of more TV programming into Thursday in Hall H – especially with Con Man producer PJ Haarsma having revealed that the Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion web series would be on Thursday between “Doctor Who and Marvel“. If that holds true, and with this announcement it looks like it could, we may also see Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and/or Agent Carter get the Thursday Hall H treatment as well.

Groovy

for anyone who has been hoping for the upcoming starz series ash vs evil dead to make a comic-con appearance — you might just be in luck. Star bruce campbell mentioned on twitter that he will be at the convention, and that he might have a “special treat” with him. He then tagged the series, so it sounds like we’re in for some sort of appearance. Whether it’s a panel, an offsite screening, or a combination — well, that’s anyone’s guess.
“@gizmopaws1: @groovybruce will we see you at #sdcc this year????” hell yes, you will! Might have a special treat with me. #ashvsevildead

DOCTOR WHO Panel at San Diego Comic-Con to Include Peter Capaldi

saw somewhere else they will be there Thursday instead of the usual Sunday.
Yeah that link I posted talked about them being there Thursday, then Con Man, then Marvel TV (Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, etc.). One the one hand, cool for solid nerd TV stuff. On the other, what's going to be at NerdHQ that day since we'll probably have to end up there? :)

And what the eff is gonna be in Hall H on Sunday...besides Supernatural.

I think you're probably on target with Better Call Saul. Figure Always Sunny... too. Last year The Strain was in there at 1:45 and that was the last panel. Maybe throw in The Comedians and make the last three an FX panel? American Horror Story?

Even more, what about throwing in something about their new Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll to get it shown the week before it airs?

I looked at a lot of stuff that's coming up for release and, man there is a lot that could be here that I didn't put down. I'm sure that at least 50% of this stuff will be there, but who knows about the rest. I'm also only hoping that Star Wars is there. My gut says no, my heart says yes.

oooh I am not much for speculating, but add Skull Island/Pacific Rim 2 to the Legendary panel. I would probably think that GDT has a seperate panel on...Saturday???, that is dedicated solely to Crimson Peaks. Think it would get lost in the shuffle of the Legendary panel. I miss the old things like the visionary panel where they would just have guys like GDT/Johnny Favs/etc. panel together and riff on the state of things. I think GDT can be counted on for a NerdHQ panel as he has done in the past...I would sure love to see that. The man is just a lot of fun, and really gets it.

Like your Hateful 8 choice...Quentin is no stranger to the con. But that's a Warner Brothers flick ain't it? I can see him being folded into their group presentation on Saturday.

Don't rule out the new Planet of the Apes flick either. Too early, but that hasn't stopped them in the past.

How about this...Sunday is known as kids day. Just imagine if Star Wars took over hall H on Sunday. Not likely...but it would make Sunday more than just an add on/clean up day.

I totally forgot about those two. It's just so (possibly) crowded on Saturday and something isn't going to fit there. Maybe Dreamworks/Paramount are on Thurs, Fox goes to Friday and GDT has an hour or so for those three?

Yeah maybe Hateful 8 goes to Saturday if Fox was on Friday instead. Again, very crowded if they went with something like I put there, but it would be full of a lot of really good stuff too. I considered PofA but it's not coming out until 2017 or something right? I tried to go with things that, at the latest, were coming out end of next year and/or things that came out between end of SDCC and before the 2016 one. There's also some in there that might not fit the bill (In the Heart of the Sea I'm looking at you).

We both know that won't happen, but it certainly would be a great way to end it. Start with the second season of Rebels and then Star Wars and then a short Q&A on Rogue One. Maybe an announcement of the second spin off (though I'm guessing those last two would go D23 if not all of it).

In the Heart of the Sea is the one with Thor, right? With Marvel not coming I don't know if that's likely.

It's funny you mention that. The fact that Marvel isn't coming actually colored some of my choices. I went with it mostly because spectacle and such but it doesn't really feel like a Comic Con movie to be honest. In fact, neither does Spectre...but that one feels like a darkhorse.

Also, Hannibal was just announced as being there too so...I know you'll be happy about that option in case Hall H doesn't come through.

SDCC exclusive...you can bet yer ass I will be getting one of these. He is usually there preview night so...guess who will be getting a signed one if he can.
