I haven't decided if "Dark Universe" is clever at how simple and direct it is or if it's just incredibly corny. :P

I made my four year old Lil Mazzy watch The Princess Bride for the first time this week. Of course she was like "I don't want to watch, I want Moana..." Well too bad, welcome to your new favorite movie. Hmm, doesn't the movie start like that with Kevin Arnold and his Grandpa? Anyways getting to see her watch it for the first time brought me back to when I was a kid. When Wesley took off his pirate mask she said "Daddy, he came back!" As a kid, I don't think I knew it was him in the mask either. Warms the flippin heart. Now if I could get her to say "inconceivable" constantly...

Just so you could say "you keep using that word. i do not think it means what you think it means?"

Now anybody want a peanut?

"Inconceivable!" was the sound bite I used to receive text messages, to the point now (the sound is always off) I think I instinctively say inconceivable when I see the blue light blinking.*

Luc: Adorable. I'm not a parent so I don't know if I'm allowed to have an opinion but I do enjoy: You are going to watch this and it WILL be your favorite movie attitude. =)

I have a feeling that this movie is gonna be a bit of a letdown. My concern is that it's gonna try to be sort of a more serious version of "The Fifth Element," and that movie works so well for me because it's not afraid to be bonkers-bananas.

But, hey, it is Luc Besson, though, so maybe it'll be super green.

Based on an OLD french comic book...so yeah, it's TinTin all over again...I fully see this as being the quintessential follow up to Fifth Element. Cult movie status in a perfect world.
