In Western Pennsylvania, 1997, Shannon is assigned to solve the murder of a Navy SEAL’s family–and to locate his teenage daughter, who has disappeared.

The upcoming dramedy takes place in a world where Norwegian scientists have solved overcrowding by being able to shrink people down to the size of action figures. A married couple decides they want to give it a go, but at the last minute, one of them bails, leaving the other small and a little annoyed.

Speaking to EW, Payne said that while he and frequent collaborator Jim Taylor wrote the script between Sideways and The Descendants, it took a while to make because of the financing required for the special effects. “I was told a couple of times, and not in my words, it’s too intelligent to justify the budget it requires,” says Payne.

Saw the Blade Runner second trailer, guess I missed it before. It looks like it has a good chance of being just plain bad. Science fictiony action movie with a very pedestrian script. I hope I'm reading too much into it. But it was not encouraging.

Saw the new trailer on big screen yesterday. Not a lot of actual details in it. Just a general feel. I think featuring Gosling and Leto too much lowers expectations. But Villeneuve i.m.o. has not made a bad movie, so I am holding out hope. I've read it has a very 'green' agenda, which is nice to see...since global warming and stuff, but we shall see.
