All things:sequels

What the hey, I'll cue it up after what I'm watching now finishes.

So now do I have to watch that one (the first one) next? I think I recorded it too.

Hangover 2 was pretty funny, especially Zach Galifanakis (+/- spelling). I guess everyone just bagged on the movie because it is the exact same premise as the first movie, and I do deduct a few points for that. Also, Jamie Chung was criminally underused and it would have been nice to give the fourth guy a personality and something to do this time. And I had to fast forward past one part, but I still need to unsee the part I caught. The cameo at the end was deeply gratuitous but still very funny.

I actually enjoyed Horrible Bosses quite a bit. Not sure what they'll do with a sequel, though.

GROWN UPS 2 Trailer. GROWN UPS 2 stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and Salma Hayek | Collider

I hate you America. I remember watching the first one when I was projectile vomiting @ 3am and it was the only thing on that I had any interest in...I just wanted something to take my mind off the horrible nausea. That movie actually made it worse. Such a tremendous waste of talent. A sucking quagmire of lowest common denominator, family friendly crapspackle. Adam Sandler...you are on warning. Stop pandering and make a funny movie. Remember Eddie Murphy???

I watched Grown Ups on a flight to London. I barely made it through the movie. Thumbs down.

The innernetz were abuzz over Matthew Lillard making a sequel to SLC Punk on Monday. Since I haven't heard anything else. I'm assuming this was just someone's sick april fool's joke.

Screenwriter Max Landis Gives Status Update on CHRONICLE 2; Says It

I still say Chronicle is among the best 'superhero' movies ever...

Speaking with IGN Middle East, Landis provided an update on the status of the Chronicle sequel:

“Chronicle 2 is in an interesting place right now. It’s moving along. There was this whole announcement that they wanted to just do the same thing again because my father said that. My father is not involved in Chronicle 2. He doesn’t know the process, it was not his place to say that. The truth is when you have a movie that was as successful as Chronicle was, it’s not as quick of a process. There are a lot more voices coming in and saying ‘This is what the sequel should be’ because there’s a bigger expectation and a bigger fear of failure. And that’s really what’s going on with Chronicle 2. Josh [Trank] is directing Fantastic Four. I’m doing a hundred other movies. Chronicle 2 has become this question of ‘How do we all make a movie that we all respect?’. and that’s true to what Chronicle is. There’s no one at the studio who wants to make a bad movie. They all want to make a good movie just as much as I do. We’re not fighting.”

Landis went on to directly address John’s comments regarding Fox’s reaction to his script:

“The report came out that they didn’t like my script. They liked my script. It’s just a really dark script. The question is more of ‘How do we all compromise to get something we want?’. And that’s an incredibly slow process.”

The screenwriter went on to say that the film “will happen eventually,” but as with many properties in development, it appears that Chronicle 2 is a ways off. Whether the film actually comes to fruition is uncertain. The length of time since the release of the first film is now past a year and it doesn’t sound like the project is any closer to a greenlight or pre-production, so I can’t help but feel like Chronicle 2 is becoming a bit less likely than we initially thought. Time will tell.
