'Source Code 2' And 'The Crow' Get New Directors

Wait, what?

"Source Code 2" is indeed really happening, with Anna Foerster slated to direct. She's done a mix of TV helming gigs ("Criminal Minds," "Outlander"), but also worked on the VFX teams for movies like "Pitch Black" and "Independence Day," so she'll be in familiar territory. Jones isn't involved with this effort, but screenwriter Ben Ripley returns to pen the script. No word yet on plot details, but it looks like someone else will have an "Edge Of Tomorrow"/"Groundhog Day"-esque experience.

Oh, and

Meanwhile, the forever developing "The Crow" remake now has a new director in Corin Hardy. He's a music video director, stepping into features with his first, "The Hallow," coming next year. He replaces F. Javier Gutierrez, who is doing the next "The Ring" movie instead, and production aims to start next spring.

Oy.

We previously reported that the big threat in Jurassic World is a new dino hybrid, a creation designed to boost attendance at the park, which turns out to be a bad idea because you don’t play God with dinosaurs. EW reports that Howard plays the Park’s operations manager with Robinson and Simpkins playing her nephews who have come to visit. The job and trip go poorly when the hybrid hatches, and Trevorrow warns, “There are dinosaurs and there’s the other—there’s this thing that is not one of them, that is not of them.”

Trevorrow, who was handpicked by Steven Spielberg, adds that the Jurassic Park director didn’t want “a carbon copy of the earlier films,” so there are “a lot of bold new ideas in the movie and I’m pushing it as far forward as I can.” And if that push includes Raptor Buddies, we’ll just have to wait and see how that plays out.

I'm not the biggest fan of this franchise...but this one sounds a little wacky...so I am mildly curious.

I could sort of get behind another Rambo movie, just make sure they use blood squibs instead of computers this time.
