FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Stars Demanding Huge Raises for Sequels
http://collider.com/fifty-shades-of-grey-stars-demand-raises/

See, I think the actors are smart (although not as smart as Jax Teller for getting the hell away from these crapsterpieces). Get the foot in the door by taking a small salary, then hold the studio hostage for a major paycheck for the sequels. Just because they made an awful movie based on an awful book that was originally fanfiction for another series of three awful books that were made into four awful movies with three awful actors, it still made FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. If the sequel only does 40% the business of the first, that is TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. If you have to stain your career with the stink of this crap, which probably outweighs the increased visibility, you better be getting paid. Sonny Crockett's daughter was pretty good on that Ben and Kate show that lasted five weeks; she didn't need this.

The author's crazy and went mad with power? Who would have guessed? What you don't fund is her next book, even if it is a story about furries based on characters from Divergent.

Sam J. Jones reveals the new Flash Gordon movie is no longer a reboot, and that he may appear in it
http://www.blastr.com/2015-3-12/sam...n-movie-no-longer-reboot-and-he-may-appear-it

A year ago, we reported that a Flash Gordon reboot was in the works, with former Star Trek 3 scribes J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay penning the script. But instead of using the campy, beloved 1980 cult classic that starred Sam J. Jones as Flash — a football player who traveled to a distant planet called Mongo — as the basis for their movie reboot, the writers decided to use the tone of the original 1930s serial as their inspiration. Well, you can throw all of that out a space window right now, because it appears that's no longer happening.

In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Sam J. Jones updated us on that long-in-development Flash Gordon flick, revealing that the movie will now be a sequel (a bit of trivia: when Flash Gordon was released back in 1980, there were plans for a sequel, but that never materialized for various reasons), and that there are talks for him to appear in the movie:

Matthew Reilly, VP of production at Fox Studios, acquired the screenplay rights to Flash Gordon last year, and he hired [Predator/ Chronicle/ Man From U.N.C.L.E producer] John Davis and his staff to write the script. They’re looking to bring out a sequel actually. I met with Matt, we’re in talks about that. I’m very excited. A lot of people over the years, including Stephen Sommers and Neil H Moritz, have acquired the screenplay rights, but for whatever reason they did not do a follow up on the option. So I’m very excited about it.

When he was asked if he would want to play an older Flash, or a mentor to a younger actor, here’s what Jones said:

However they want to use me, I’m very excited. I told Matt, however he wants to use me, keep one thing in mind: whatever a younger, leading man can do, I cannot only match him, I can do more! If he does 20 pull-ups, I can do 30 pull-ups. If he can do 100 push-ups, I can do 150 push-ups. Just keep that in mind!

Yes please. But you have to have Baron and the King of the Hawkmen back too!!!!

Exclusive: SUPER TROOPERS 2 Gets Distribution; Looking for Funding on Indiegogo
http://collider.com/super-troopers-2-indiegogo/

After rumblings and rumors for years, there’s finally some real momentum on Super Troopers 2. Steve interviewed the guys of Broken Lizard—Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske—and learned a ton about the film, which has secured distribution from 20th Century Fox, but now needs funding via Indiegogo at supertroopers2movie.com

What sets Super Troopers 2 apart from Veronica Mars, which earned my ire and suspicion when it raised money despite having distribution from Warner Bros, is that some reward levels will include a ticket to see Broken Lizard’s film in a movie theater. You’re paying in advance for a movie you want to see, and helping the film get made. And at the higher donation levels, there are some spectacular rewards.

If you’ve got the scratch, you can get the guys to be your bridesmaids or groomsmen, and they’ll do it in character. Another reward level will get you one of the cars used in the movie. Of course, there are lower reward levels as well, but you can see that the gang is really willing to go the distance to get the picture finally made.

In addition to telling Steve about some of the rewards, the guys revealed that they hope to shoot this summer, that the story picks up about a year after the events of the first film (there will be an acknowledgement that the guys have aged far more than a year), what it took to get the movie to its current status, and update on Potfest and Ambulance Chasers, and much more.

Click over to the Indiegogo page to watch the guys reprise their characters and pitch the sequel. If you’re convinced, then be sure to donate meow.
