All things:sequels

This is one of those movies were they will never be able to recreate its charms

especially because...let's be honest...that movie is daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaated. What are they gonna be hipster vamps. Kiefer Sutherland drinking artisanal, farm to table blood while waxing his mustaches?

oiled up sax man might still be preserved enough to reprise his role. And as dated as it is, i still love this movie.

Regardless if Notbob believes me, ha! I haven't seen the Lost Boys. I haven't seen Near Dark either which came out around the same time, and some peeps in the Horror board I visit have argued is a better movie.

Not saying it like it's a good thing that I haven't watched said movies. Didn't we have not watched movie thread? :P

I have heard some of the soundtrack though. :P

Hurm. Near Dark vs Lost Boys...

Near Dark has aged better but that's because Lost Boys is sooooooo stylized and locked into '80's culture. Since you haven't seen either, if you did watch both you would probably enjoy ND more. You kinda had to see Lost Boys in the time it represents.

China’s Love Of The ‘Now You See Me’ Movies Is Being Rewarded With A Non-English Spinoff
http://uproxx.com/movies/china-now-you-see-me-spinoff/

Ok, so that is why NYSM 2 got made. For China. And now with Ghostbusters as well as Crimson Peaks losing international b.o. due to China's ban on ghost movies, you will start to see any mention of spirits disappearing from big budget movies. With Legendary being bought by a foreign company one of the premier genre generators is going to be compromised by these restrictions. So, basically...China is the new U.S. when it comes to movies. Setting rules and such.

Can China just do with movie ghosts what Japan does with movie schlongs and just pixilate them out. mhihi:

Enjoyed ST Beyond quite a bit more than ST ID. Nothing special format-wise in IMAX besides the sound and brightness but the 3D was decent. 4.5/5.

I had the opposite reaction to Beyond. Other than the Trek license, didn't like much of it at all. Least favorite movie of the year.

Check out the question at 1:21 (or just watch the whole thing). I couldn't find an easily-to-post version of just the clip, but it's funny. I'm not sure this would have made me like the movie any more, but I like Karl Urban and John Cho anyway, and Jahannah James seems cool.
