OK...WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME...that season one of Penny Dreadful COMPLETELY crushed it by the finale'???? I was so scared of watching, thinking it was going nowhere. The Mina thing wrapped a little short, but all in all the perfect mix of satisfying storylines and opening up new ones. And then, after that revelation, I watched the first episode of this season. Woo Boy...lemme catch my breath. Right out of the gate...flying. Guess y'all who get tired of me hammering the same shows over and over(Rectify/Black Sails/Ripper Street) got a new one to deal with. They finally got the story matched with the stunning visuals and really strong performances. Rory Kinnear's Creature is just amazing to watch...simply amazing. That first season...f u emmy voters!!!!!

THIS. ALL OF THIS. Penny Dreadful is really fantastic. Glad you finally finished last season! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the rest of this season.

I love him soooooooooooo much, but I'm totally expecting him to be killed off too, sadly :(

I was pretty bummed about ****SPOILERS****

Angelique too. Dorian sucks and we barely got to know Angelique's character.

That sucked too. I liked how he brought the best out of him/her, and as soon as she admitted to be able to accept Dorian, boom time to die.

Seems like Brona and Dorian are going to go at it, with John Clare probably somewhere in the middle.

I also liked the fact that Malcolm was able to break out of the enchantment on his own, building on his character.

Brona/Lily's scene at the end with the Creature was ****ing badass. She was kind of annoying as Brona, but I'm ready as hell to see her take down Victor and...oh, everyone else.

I don't know why I've hesitated to watch Penny Dreadful. Even the show's billboard that I saw the other day is trying to tell me something.

I'll try to watch the first season. It only has 8 episodes or so right? I'll watch that and see where it goes from there. :good:

So many possibilities going forward. I was kind of hoping for a John Clare/Miss Ives vs. Brona/Dorian main event showdown, but there's so many realms of where they can take it.

nice to finally see the wolf close up and in color. still too bad the guy from africa had to die.

I'm sooooo bummed Sembene died. I'm still praying someone in Africa can work some blood magic or something on him when he gets there with Malcolm.
Lily/Brona is THE BEST. I was so happy when she called out Victor as an abusive perv. It seems like her and Dorian might be two of the big bads next season and I'm preeeeeetty excited.
Next season I'm just hoping for Dracula to finally show up and for Vanessa and Mr. Lyle to team up, go to America and rescue Ethan.
 
Is anybody watching Masters of Sex? It sounds interesting to me, but I am afraid that if I start watching it people will think I am some kind of pervert. :O
