Oh, I officially started IT! Hopefully, I will finish it before the movie comes out which I have more or less resigned myself to watch, lol. :D

So... $117M weekend? Time to start picking faves for casting the It sequel.

^ has to be Amy Adams!

I was joking about Gal Gadot, haha, but I didn't even think about Amy Adams. That's pretty much on the nose. Good call. :good:

Like most people, I didn't go see IT this weekend.. I was hellbent on finishing the novel before seeing the movie
cause I am neurotic, haha. And I did finish it, so there Jerseydevil!! :woot:

Of course, I could've gone to see it later in the weekend, but then I got drunk, and well, you know. mhihi: :manybeers:

Anyhoooow, I will see the movie and see how it compares to the book. I am not a purist or anything so really don't nitpick changes. innocent:

I am one of those weirdos who reads about town. So during the last two weeks, people have seen me reading IT at the park, mall, what have you, and several have started conversations about the upcoming movie. That's when I realized that the movie was going to be BIG. Either that, or people just wanted to find an excuse to talk to such a charismatic person like me. mhihi: ;)

Did not realize the IT director did "Mama" with Jessica Chastain and there's a story today along the lines that she would be interested in the sequel. She's an acceptable Amy Adams replacement. :)

WARNING SPOILERS

Saw IT last night and as an avid fan of the book was very satisfied with the movie. As anyone who read the book knows it is very, very detailed and I would imagine extremely difficult to adapt to a 2-hour movie so in that sense I think they did a magnificent job of adapting the story and making a great movie. I loved that they found such a strong Beverly actress and stuck so closely with her story line from the book. The sorrow I felt with Georgie's death in the opening sequence of the book was expertly adapted in the movie and they captured Pennywise's charm and persuasiveness so well - and Bill Skaarsgard did this role great - so the movie was a success. The dread that Derry led every reader, the general sorrow and fright in that city was adapted well and established as well. I also liked how they teased Pennywise's true form at the end when he was trying to attack Mike on the ground and did anyone else think he was dying to show them his true form when his forehead was coming apart? Downsides - Mike's reduction as a character and Ben not being the engineer but librarian - didn't like this at all. Still very interested in seeing how they adapt Chapter 2.

Overall an amazing effort for those of us fans of the book with this film. As a reader if you were not satisfied with how your imagined vision came through I think your expectations are too high.

Happy 70th birthday to the greatest American author of our generation.

and this looks awesome. I will tell anyone who will listen, Thomas Jane is terribly underrated.
