All Things: TELEVISON

I was always a DC over Marvel guy back in the day...and I cut my teeth on 1966 Batman/Electro Woman & Dyna-Girl/Shazam...but these WB shows just don't do it for me.

Weird, cause I cannot dig the Marvel/Netflix shows either...

jd, did you watch Heroes Reborn and if so, did you like it?

I personally thought it was decent. I think the only flaw was that the pacing was a little off. It felt like there were some episodes where not much happened and then some episodes had too many things happening. But I'll always love the whole space/time continuum stuff because it's freaking amazing. It opens up so many possibilities.

I also enjoyed how everything pieced together in the end, pretty cool stuff.

I remember reading an article before the episodes aired on NBC and how they were "bragging" about how much easier it is to do the special effects today, as opposed to when Heroes originally debuted. But man, if I had to complain it would be the special effects. They looked downright cheesy most of the time.

All in all, it sucks that there isn't a Season 2 again. Maybe down the line... :)

After 2 eps, X-Files is great so far. Have not wanted to finish the last 2 eps of Heroes Reborn on my PVR because it was so meh.

So good. Just as I remembered it.

After 2 eps, X-Files is great so far. Have not wanted to finish the last 2 eps of Heroes Reborn on my PVR because it was so meh.

First episode was f-ing fantastic although I still believe Joel McHale is a crappy actor.

Second was great but not as good as the first.

Loved that they kept the style of the original series.

Cant believe Smoking man is still alive and why oh why Gillian Anderson, why did you get so much plastic surgery??? You have NO expression in your face at all. You should be a sexy red milf...but alas...rigid cellophane face. :(

Anyway, good fun! Make more than 6, please?

Second episode was very different from first.

I admit I was not a huge follower of the original series (it just scared the hell out of me when I was younger). I still have some catching up to do in terms of what exactly is going on, but I get the gist of it. I'm also of the feeling that David Duchovny is in Donal Logue territory in never doing anything bad, ever. Very pleased thus far.

TV Review: ‘Outsiders’
http://variety.com/2016/tv/reviews/outsiders-review-wgn-america-david-morse-1201677147/

WGN America is still seeking to define itself, having garnered acclaim for “Manhattan,” if less for “Salem.” With “Outsiders,” its newest drama, the Tribune programmer zeroes in on FX Lite territory, in an Appalachian-set series peppered with hints of “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified,” and perhaps a pinch of “Mad Max” for good measure. Featuring David Morse and Thomas M. Wright (again terrific after his turn in “The Bridge”), the casting trumps much of the material, but the series quickly establishes a strong sense of place in the wilds of a still-untamed pocket of America.

Also has Opie from Sons, and Joe Anderson( the chatty guy in the next seat from the Grey/the deputy in the Crazies remake), so yeah. Really really good cast. And it's about hillfolk outlaws in Kentucky. So you really wouldn't be shocked to see Clay dropping by to buy 'shine, or Raylen Givens coming to talk tough guy talk. This could be a good one.
