All Things: TELEVISON

Dunno...I doubled up on Under the Dome last night watching the last 2 eps...not sure what the complaining is about. It's network tv. The last 2 haven't been any lesser than the pilot. Is it terrrific, no. But it's entertaining enough. It's network folks. Where they try to appeal to EVERYONE. They still haven't grasped the 'if you build a good show...viewers will come' phiosophy so you HAVE to expect this. I think the actors are trying hard enough, it's just not written very well. I'm gonna stick with it because I knew going in this wasn't going to be earth shattering.

The third episode of the Dome was a lot better than the first two. I think what did it is they stopped trying to cram as much crap in as they could and I am used to TV characters so it doesn't bug me as much how different several are from what I just read a month ago.

Meanwhile, I was really impressed with the first episode of Siberia (which took things nice and slow), but the second one was lacking (too slow, and the bad acting by the Canadian girl was painful).

I just watched the first season of The Fall, a thriller starring Gillian Anderson. Anyone else seen it? Am I in the right thread?

Gillian plays a detective in charge of an investigation to catch a serial killer, not exactly the most original premise but it's very well made and tight, being only five episodes for the first season. Some terrific acting and the characters are interesting as well. Check it out if you've got a spare five hours over the next week or two :)

Only 5 eps? At the glacial pace that the first ep went, it felt like 2 hours to me. I have 0 interest in the killer side of the story.

Enjoyed the return of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", although I really hope they bring back the group singing medley skits (hoedown, irish drinking song). Other than a few too many attempts to be crass and too much focus on the special guests, there were a lot of funny moments.

so ABC has a thing at Comic Con not only for Once Upon a Time, for a new drama called Once Upon a Time In Wonderland.

overkill?
